Alden Indy Boot 403 (Chrome Excel) Care and Advice

Post by Geoff »

Hello,

I recently purchased a pair of the Alden 403, Chrome Excel boots and have a question about caring for and coloring them. Forgive me in advance if I'm repeating a previous thread. I searched similar posts but was getting frustrated digging for the answer.

I want to know how to try and darken the stitching from white to brown (the boot color)? I also want to know if it's possible to darken the top of the heel (I think that's what you'd call it)? I've highlighted the areas in the photo below. The yellow circle is the stitching, and the red is the top heel portion.

Is using Pecard Weatherproof Dressing in Brown the best product for caring for, and ultimately darkening these areas? Are there any better products I could use for this? I've read that some people don't care for Pecard's on the jacket, but I'm not sure about the boots.

Thank you in advance for your advice!
