Lee Keppler And His New Lid!
Hi all, I attended the Crossroads Gun Show this weekend and had a great time. I checked out the firearms of course also some great WW11 memorabilia and other interesting trinkets. The highlight of my weekend at the show was meeting our very own Lee Keppler! It was great to finally meet another gear-head and even better that it was Lee. The show was running kinda slow so we had plenty of time for introductions. We talked about the hat, the jacket, guns, and lee's straps and holsters. He was great to talk too... I learned alot about the history of IndyGear and some background info from Lee. Lee didn't have his gear on him that day, but he did have his new hat with him. Lee now makes a Bogart fedora, the "Bogie" he called and he asked me to tell the rest of you about it. Its a great looking hat in a slate grey color which I really liked. Its shape is inspired by, well the hat Bogart wore in many of his films. Its made of the same 5X's fur felt and goes for the same price as the Indy Keppler, $130.00...however just a note on October 1st Lee's hats will go up 5 bucks in price so they'll both be $135.00. Its a great fedora Lee hopes to get some pics of it soon, but after seeing and handling the hat it gets my seal of approval... if thats worth anything. I was glad to finally meet another gear-head it only made me want to meet all the rest of you someday soon. Well there it is if your interested in the "Bogie" get a hold of Lee! Hopefully he will return with the gun show in November and I get to talk to him some more. Regards, Brett

I'm so glad you got the chance to not just meet, but spend time with not just another Gearhead, but Lee. Maryon and I first met him at the QM Summit, and it was truly wonderful to talk, spend time (and drinks) with, and just absorb the words and wisdom of a wonderful person! Kinda like Yoda with a whip and fedora.... The next time Crossroads of the West makes it down to Tucson, we'll be right there! Looking forward to pics of the Bogart fedora; sounds like another great quality Keppler product for a great price!
Regards,
Henry Jones, Sr.

You said it HJS ...Yoda with a fedora and whip, plus a gun or 2 or 3...he just kept pulling them outta all his hidden holsters and pockets! I have to say it was great for me to meet him, learned alot and made some decisions from his advice. Can't wait to talk to him again! The "Bogie" lid looked really cool on Lee as well... guess I'll have to get 2 hats from him now. Regards, Brett

You know, I believe Lee does several gunshows in Arizona. You may call him and check. Sounds like he may be closer than you think.
Pyro.
PS - You, me, whipchick (Angela, my girlfriend) and Maryon, outta look at an El Paso summit or Big Bend (Lajitas, TX). There's a big mtn bike race in Feb there. It's a great time to get together.
PM if you are interested.

Well ITG... I didnt get to see the Keppler Indy Fedora, I was hoping too or Lee's FS jacket. So I cant really compare the differnt PBs and Keppler Indy hats. We did talk about your Keppler however I said I really like the look of yours. His "Bogie" hat is made of the same felt and stuff as his Keppler "Raiders" and I was really impressed with that fedora I liked the look and feel of it a lot... Its a bit softer and floppier than my PBs Not alot but just a little bit. Still I thought that the craftmanship was top notch and the Bogie hat looked real cool... I might have to get one. Brett

Wow, Lee on the road without his gear! You tell him the next time you see him that Michaelson was shocked and amazed! (grins) Tell him Hello for me too! Lee's an interesting feller. I've known him since 1985, and we've talked via phone and internet for years. It wasn't until this past May on the Queen did we ever find ourselves in the same room together, and what was odd was that it was just a continuation of our conversations. The only difference was he was across the table from me instead of across the country. One great individual, whether Indy related or not, he's a good man. Regards. Michaelson
