Tony Nowak Original Crystal Skull #259/777 in 747 Leather

Post by singsingjohnny »

I ordered this a while back from Tony and Riley Barrie finished it.

A Crystal Skull in the 747 leather. The leather has already matted down and is breaking in nicely, the quality is really outstanding, Riley and co. hit this one out of the park!

More pic of me wearing the jacket soon...to be continued.

In the meantime, here are some of the jacket, from last Saturday (the second day I had it.)

Thanks, I love your two jackets as well!

They ARE tough to take off, aren't they? :)

These jackets are seriously blowing my mind! ](*,) It's just amazing the meticulous, craftsmanship each jacket is getting time and time again! Many complements to the workers and Riley!

Really nice jacket and really nice change in the leather for a CS jacket!

I really dig that 747!

I agree, it's really cool to see a CS jacket in different leather. The 747 leather is a great choice!

Now I'm getting curious about how a CS would look in SL :) Probably not as good as this though :TOH:

According to recent discoveries Geert, it would be indistinguishable from the 747 ;)

Hey SSJ nice jacket! Love the leather - can you do us a favour? Can you tell me teh size and what it weighs? I'm thinking of getting a jacket in 747 and what it weighs is important to me.

Cheers - CM

Here are the exact specs:

- Crystal Skull, 747 leather

- Jacket #: 259?

- Inscription: "It's not the years, it's the mileage."

- Zipper Pull: UK Style, on left when wearing coat

- Two inside pockets (I carry around a lot of @#$%!)

- Leather facings on inside (so fabric meets leather, not zipper)

- Measurements:

A > B (Front Wind Flap, Top to Bottom): 25"
C > D (Chest Across): 26"
E > F (Bottom Across): 26"
G > H (Shoulder Across): 7 1/2"
I > J (Back Height): 27"
K > L (Back Across): 21"
M > N (Sleeve Length): 26"

- I'm a 6'1/2", 260 lbs with a 52" chest...I have pretty broad, Frankenstein's-Monster-like shoulders. ;)

----------------------------

As far as weight of the jacket goes, I'm not positive but my best guess would be about 8 lbs or so.

Hope this is what you were looking for!

I was going to take pics of myself last night in the coat, but I had on a t-shirt and a pair of track pants (from walking the dog) and I just couldn't bring myself to do the jacket the injustice of having photos taken of it with me wearing track pants. Soon though, probably this weekend. I still don't have a good pair of Indy pants yet (holding out for the new material from Magnoli!), so it won't be a full gear shot, but I'll shoot some nonetheless and post them here.

It turned out very nice:

a couple of those things are standard on a CS jacket:

- Zipper Pull: UK Style, on left when wearing coat

- Leather facings on inside (so fabric meets leather, not zipper)

Cool, I figured they probably were but I wanted to be sure.

I started out wanting a LC jacket but although I like the distressing on that jacket, I really like to let my jackets kind of get there on their own, y' know?

And although I know the CS jacket leather is a bit lighter, I thought the 747 would capture the look I wanted a bit better. It turned just as I had hoped!

Fantastic jacket  . The 747 seems to be such an outstanding leather...
I particularly like those close up shots showing the grainy surface. Looks very similar to the dark brown goat.
Congratulations.

That just looks terrific! It took a little "gumption" to go with the CS in what has basically been considered a Raiders type leather. Bravo for trying it and it looks absolutely fantastic!!

Thanks for that comprehensice spec list. 8 pounds! I thought the 747 was a lighter leather. My G&B goat weighs 3.5 pounds: yours is even heavier than an Aero in Horsehide. ;)

Oops! That was supposed to be a 3, not an 8! That's what I get for trying to post on my iPhone...typos and grammatical issues. It's actually around 3 lbs, 3-4 lbs wet or fully loaded up for proper adventuring!

Just saw this thread and wow what a great jacket!
I believe no matter what Indy Jacket 1,2,3 or 4 would look great in the 747 leather!
That's a real jacket! Wear it with proud!
