Pecards and natrual distressing

Post by jamesdell »

I have a question about pecards, most likely Michaelson can answer this. I've just got a wonderful new cowhide wested, and I'm going to be ordering some pecards to go along with it.

The question is this: will regular (say two light coats twice yearly) application of pecards slow the natural distressing that I want, or will it just keep my leather soft while the jacket distresses :-k ?

Thanks
James

edit: Also, has anyone every had a problem after pecards application of residue coming off on car seats and the like? Not something I have experienced, merely a concern.
Thanks again

I have a Wested in the Novapelle finish(pre-distressed cow) that is almost two years old. I have used Pecards on it 3, maybe 4 times. I wouldn't say that the pecards slows the natural distressing but it does mask some distress marks for a period of time. My wife always comments how dark the jacket looks, almost black after immediate treatment, but then a few days later the jacket lightens up and distress marks again to reappear.

Concerning the pecards rubbing off you shouldn't have a problem if you let it soak in over night and then wipe and buff off any excess.
