The New Custom ROLA from Wested

Here is my new Custom ROLA jacket from Wested, size 38 regular.
It's got extra room in the chest, measuring in at 44".
The pocket specs are RIGHT on for the Raiders look, IMO.
Other than the yoke seam lining up with the back of sleeve seam, and the zipper not going all the way down to the hem, I can't complain....OH! There is one thing....
I did ask for 24.5" sleeves in the check-off section where all the juicy details are lined up...they must've overlooked that because I got 24 inch sleeves on the dot. Believe me, that extra half inch would have made all the difference.
Moving on: I consulted the COW in a previous post regarding this jacket (please refer to my previous post about the ROLA Custom) and was recommended by my good buddy Holt (Bless you Holt) to begin the sleeve lengthening process.
Here's what he (roughly) suggested, and just what I did:
Wet the sleeves and tug gently from the elbow down...keep up the process, because as it dries, it will want to shrink back to original length.
Needless to say this was/is an ongoing process. I will never truly get all the length out of these sleeves that I desire, but it's a fine enough line to where I wont sell this puppy, or trade it in to Wested (which is a nail bitingly long winded and money draining proposition in and of itself, so I hear)....SO
ON with the madness... Here are the results :TOH:

If you are happy I'm happy for you.
To be honest the sleeves still need another inch. I don't see much difference after the stretching, and did you try to shrink it? If so it's still too big in the chest for you, really shows in the side and back view.
I don't want to sound negative, just being honest with what I see for fit.

I can dig it. Yea, and I did stretch out the chest a bit.
It's all good, Wested will get another 300 bucks from me somewhere down the line...

Like I said before, I really hope that you like this jacket in the long run. I've been in the same position before (several times) with something just not right with a jacket that I've told myself (not saying this is what you're doing, just giving background for my situation) isn't that big a deal and telling myself that it will quit bugging me with time.

I've sold every single jacket.

Again, no ill will intended. I definitely hope that this isn't the case with you and this jacket. It's just a nice feeling to get what you ordered in a jacket and to be completely happy with your purchase, and I like to see others experience that as well.

You mentioned the yoke and sleeve seams lining up. Did you request the sleeve seam be and inch lower? And for the zipper bottom to be at the hem?

Crisman's, I don't think it's a Wested standard for either of those unless it was requested.

Ravenswood, I really would persist with the sleeve stretching, because to my eye they are definitely one inch short at the moment. Holt gave me the same advice and it works a treat. You just need to go BEYOND the length you want them, and yes, keep stretching until they dry. Don't be afraid of overdoing it. I've personally gone as far as sitting a filing cabinet on a stretched jacket to correct it. You still may be able to get them to a point that you are really happy with. (not that you should have to.)

If it were me, if you're going that far, frankly I'd throw the thing in your washing machine on warm water and wash it. Then wear it until it dries, doing the tugging the whole time. It's uncomfortable, but it makes the jacket look AWESOME afterwards.

But when deciding where to get your next jacket please do remember that a definition of madness is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. The posts over the last year have made me realise how much I lucked out with the success of my one and only Wested purchase.

I don't know...I'm thinking of investing in a "Rebel Without A Cause" Jacket, and then I'll be done.

thanks Holt :) You know, its really interesting...part of the compelling aspect of this jacket is, the profile is RIGHT on...Ok, there is some question as to whether the extra room in the chest is needed... lol....here I go overthinking again. And I'm supposed to be away from my laptop.
