So that is the "Mythbuster Jacket" I've read about. Very nice.
I remember seeing Adam wear it on one episode where they were bustin' one of the IJ myths (can't remember which one). He had his full gear on.
At one point he had his whip out and was trying to crack it. Looked like he was going to hurt himself
I love that show for so many reasons!

I have become a big fan of the Standard since acquiring one second-hand in the last couple of weeks. My version is the one that the factory messed up the yoke/arm seam placement and the shorter collar. Once newer versions in the B sizes come out with this corrected, I'm going to be first in line. It's a terrific light weather jacket that isn't a costume piece at all (as some have characterized it).
Dan, yours looks great here. Nice that it's went on to its own bit of fame.

They are nice. Did you rub that down with something Dan?
The only problem with the standard for me is in my size the sleeves are too short.

Sorry for the too many pics mods, still a newb on posting really so I forget the rules often...
Crismans - This is the much more accurate version before the newer sizing and mucked up details by the factory, Todd actually has the details still right in his patterns. I am in that same line as you I believe... had one of the mucked-ups briefly, new sizing is great, couldn't get past the muck-ups though.
Figured out the reason why Todd's Standards look so right... When I had another Standard around, checked it against that Nowak ROLA I had of yours and much of it spec'd out very similar (collar dimensions, storm flaps, pockets, side straps, etc.) except this Standard had the correct HF body length and all. I think I read somewhere that Todd's referenced the _ viewed screen jacket specs (similar to what ended up being referenced somwhat for the Expedition?) and if that is the case it is no wonder to me why the Todd's matches up so well to the SA jackets. Amazing that for one of the cheapest jackets you can end up with such a bang-on look. If leather texture and stitching strength aren't priorities this is one excellent ROLA looking jacket. Can wait for the next batch of non-muck-ups to arrive.
RC - hit it with alcohol rub down, spritzed it with a spray bottle of water and scrunched up the jacket in the key areas and basically did some very light distressing similar to what I start with on my Wolverine jackets.
As to the sleeves, I think in the newer sizing he has adjusted the sleeve lengths to be a little longer to make the ratios even better... That is the only place I thought this particular jacket need another 1/2 to 1 inch in sleeve length to get that cuff to hit that thumb knuckle it should, and it seemed like that was adjusted properly in the newer sizing I had briefly. Like I said, if it weren't for the factory mucked with details in collar and sleeve/yolk seam matching on that later batch jacket I got last fall I would'nt have passed it on.
I haven't had a Todd's Custom to evaluate yet, but if he is using this Standard base pattern and the USA workmanship on those are anywhere new Nowak level and Todd can source some good hides like Striated Shrunken, or maybe a similarly heavy grained Goat, that would put him right up there with the most wanted jackets IMHO.

.
The standard I had didn't have that close collar dimensions, storm flaps, pockets, side straps, etc to the Nowak. It was very similar in appearance though.
I know people have said they think Todd had _'s information from the jacket he examined, but I think Todd said otherwise, or that he didn't use them.
_'s description for that jacket is quite different in details from Todd's pattern and the TN Raiders jacket.
I agree though on the look and 'SA' effect of Todd's standard. A great accurate jacket for the price unbeatable.

Hmmm - on the one I compared the Collar was identical in total length, just about the same width too. The collar stands differed slightly, the Todd's being a slight bit taller... Maybe the one I examined just happened to be close to Crisman's Nowak.
Whatever Todd sourced as specs it seems very on the money compared to most jackets out there.

Nowak jackets are very consistent, so I doubt it was just unique in comparison.
The Todd's standard I had had a much more round end collar, and much taller collar stand.
The pocket flap shape was similar but the pocket size was different. Not by a lot but different. I didn't record measurements. I should have for Holt
Side strap of the Todd's was wider (maybe because of the buckle used on the standard), but the attachment stitching Todd has right with the K stitch and all.
The yoke as I recall was a little lower on the standard, but you'd never notice just with the jacket alone.
The jacket I had was one of the ones that did not have cut in handwarmers. That might date it to a particular batch. Yours may be from a different batch, I suspect the factory makes slight differences (like they did with the latest order aligning sleeve and yoke seams), and Todd makes tweaks with each order.
All that aside, for the price it's a bargain. Kudos for Todd for his accuracy.

My Todd's standard just won't break in. It will be two years old this summer and you can still see the line in the leather on the sleaves from how it is shipped flat. I have got caught in the rain with it several times, worn it until drys, slept in it, and rolled in a ball and thrown it into a corner. I wish it would break in better as it is starting to get some decent wear in the leather. I also need to fix some loose stitching on one of the pockets.

You and me both! While the standard I have fits great and is a perfect spring/fall jacket the little details off with mine, seam alignment and short collar are working on my OCD. Get one of these with the details right and you've gotten a terrific bargain.
Unfortunately, when I called, they're won't be any new jackets ordered from the factory until next year because Todd has quite a few in stock.
