Trilogy Style Bullwhip by Louie Foxx
Package day never fails to disappoint! This time it was a Trllogy style 8' from Louie Foxx and he hit it out of the park as far as I'm concerned!
First a bit of history. When I went to Seattle last fall I met this whip (And Louie!) and fell in love with this particular whip. We had a lot of whips to play with and I kept coming back to it, throwing it at different angles and trying to get a real feel for how it moved. As we were packing up I made an offhand comment about picking it up sometime down the road. So I did. Although following the Morgan pattern in appearance, the whip feels different from the only Morgan I've ever handled. The weight seems to be slightly more forward for a very balanced crack, compared to the feeling of weight and mass moving straight from the butt. It cracks readily and with good energy transference on all angles of attack. But it is amazing how the short handled changes the handling if you're used to a longer handled whip! Something I'll have to tweak a bit in my own motion.
The thing I love about the whip is that it has elements of all three trilogy whips, hence the moniker. The slightly darker ring knot of ROTLA, the taper of TOD and the shorter, thicker handle appearance of LC. A great representative of an "Indy" whip, if not screen accurate to a single movie. And in honor of us, the fans and this board, I gave it a proper test upon receiving it. I know my motion in the forward flick is a bit artistic and that I'm doing a strange mash up of movie and trailer in my Cairo Flash but it's the only way I know to properly test an Indy whip!

Thank you all and thank you Louie for another fine bullwhip!

Why does it have so short fall? I really like the buttknot, it's nice shape.

The fall arrived longer. As it stands it's at the minimum length suggested by David Morgan, but I'm working on getting a more SA Whitehide fall. Still cracks very well even with a short fall!

Roger that. I guess it's the traditionalist in me that likes to see poppers either white, brown or black.Indiana County Jr. wrote:Also a big plus is they are very easy to find if they come off

Oh I hear you on that Danger. Unfortunately, I have a lot of dark areas with my yard so it kinda broke me from using the black poppers (wasted a bag of Strains poppers that way before I started making my own.... )

####, my poppers are either white or yellow and I know a guy who uses bright neon pink! He NEVER loses his in the grass I tell ya. You know being screen-accurate if cute if you're at a costume party, but if you use whips, even semi-regularly, you'll get what I mean. Clearly Louie shares my sentiments...

Wow! I didn't realize that using the word h-e-double sticks was considered bad language! My most honest sincere and befuddled apologies!
As a side note and for my own personal curiosity, why is that?
Regards,
Franco

Moves pretty well too! This is the best whip for Continuing the Line I have. We're still growing together so the response is still sporadic but it's getting better!
