Club Obi Wan

as many of you know I am into the SoC hat. allthough I am a litle bored with the style right now I just had to do a final try on this style.

a couple weeks ago I dug up my first fed standard. it was really beat up. it had tapered some. I wet the hat complelty down and pushed in a piece of wood that was cut out to becoma a block. (you know those seperate round pieces) I dont know why I did it but I just tried since the hat was in such a bad shape.

when doing this it gave a really interesting shape to the hat. much like 360 shape 3$bucks is talking about. it became really boxy. when giving it the soc bash it brought out the look I was searching for in the SoC hat that I never quite got right.

I did take some pictures of it but Iwont be able to upload them until tonight.

anyways, maby you guys dont think this is IT but I really do!! Now I got the look I wanted in the first place.

okay. here is a teaser shot.

this to me is the best SoC hat I have ever made. there are details in the hat that really stand out from my previous hats. and all my previous hats NEVER pulled of the look of this hat in the screen shot.

thanx. I made a few soc hats but i keep on restyling them. but this hat was actually never tested with the soc look. it was an old beat up fed 4 standard I had. it really was in bad shape. but then again, thats isnt actually a bad thing

okay. here are a few more. bear in mind that the angle is of. its very hard to get them right.








and this look here. I never could pull it of with my other soc hats.just see the details. in the brim and pinch.

Cool! One question I've got for you. Do you put the hat on your head and then mold it to look like the scene, or do you plop it on your head and it automatically emulates each one of those scenes? If its the latter then I am not impressed...I am AMAZED!!!

I put it on my head and I say ''do the soc style'' and all of a sudden it moves and talkes like the hat used in Harry potter and then voila!

what I do is that I put the soc bash in (which is not done in 3 seconds.) put it on my head. tweak it alittle (sometimes for HOURS) and when I stand under some spotlight it creates the shadows in the right places, so obviously I must do something right

but I do think, well not think actually, I know it has much to do with my head shape. I believe my head shape is very similiar to Fords and that has much to do with recreating the look.

Well Holt, that is some fantastic work you've done there. Very impressed indeed!

Well its time well spent, cause it looks awesome. Although, I like the voice command story better.

Is the height of your hat, proportional to the brim, taller than HF's in the photo? Or is it the camera angle? I know its just picking nits, but with your (and others) desire to get everything just so spot-on, I thought I'd ask.
