Picture of a Tim Bass nylon whip

Post by Blackthorne Rose »

Does anyone have a pic of there Tim Bass nylon whip. I am wanting to get a good shot of the handle and where the fall connects, and even a shot of the entire whip if possible. His site is down and have yet to ever see a picture of one of his whips.

To add to this; does anyone know if Tim is still taking orders? and if so, how much and how long? I can't get to his site either.

Someone did mention that his shoulder was kinda sore, so that may mean he is distancing himself from whipmaking...I hope not!

I don't have any photos right now and it may be the end of the week before I can get some. That's the thing with Gearheads, sometime they wait and wait and wait and wait......

Do you mean a picture of the handle where the thong connects? Or a picture of the thong where the fall connects?

My guess is you're wanting to see the fall hitch area, where the fall is connected to the thong.

Both. But mostly where the fall connects to the thong.

I did mine the same way as the fall hitches on leather whips are done, and it's held up and hasn't come loose or budged at all.

I took several pix today in sunlight without a flash including the handle, Turk's knot, and fall hitch. I am inquiring about getting them posted. Hopefully it won't be too long.

Thanks for the pics!

Looks to me that the fall hitch is done just like in leather whipmaking.

What other questions did you have about the turkshead knots?
