So I've been planning on getting one of Todd's nice Bapty models and so I've been searching for SA walnut grips, with the gold medalions. THEY ARE HARD TO FIND AND EXPENSIVE!

Any tips?!

I'm surprised that as many gearheads turned craftsmen and artists, they're hasn't been a guy here who'd replicate the grips out of wood and sell them to us fans...?? Is it because of Copywrites?, I see other guys replicating grips on the web. If it's a matter of the logo, instead of the cool S&W design we could do something like a I&J design...? If i had a bandsaw and a beltsander I do it myself! Darn!

I found a set on EBay. They were repros, but looked pretty good.

Some custom grip makers have the option for medallions or no medallions. http://www.gungripsupply.com is one such maker. I imagine that they would sell just the medallions. Would be worth a try. I think the checkering would be the most difficult part of the whole operation.

Why not just get these?

They're $55.62 at the S&W site. They would need some distressing, but they're close.

I got my grips somewhere on eBay. I was looking around for a Browning HP when I got a link. I found some very nice grips. =P~
