He everybody,

I have a regular wool felt officially licensed indy hat that I have modified and was curious to know if its possible to get the fuzz off the wool felt to give a more clean and fancier look.

Thanks a lot

I'm far from an expert, but it is my understanding that wool felt hats can be sanded just like any other fur felt, although usually no one bothers. You might need to add a little stiffener to help hold the fibers together better (bickmore kahl hat stiffener works great.

Well, considering the post was only made late last night, keep in mind some of us may have been in bed! Give a post a chance to be seen first! ;)

Now, what exactly do you mean by "fuzz?" Are you talking about dust, lint, or the police? If either of the first two is your problem, get a hat brush and that will help. I can't help with the latter. If, by fuzz, you mean the finish of the felt itself seems fuzzy, then the idea of sanding might come into play. One thing to consider, though, is that wool felt is far different than fur felt. I've never attempted to sand a wool felt, and I'm not even sure how it would react in comparison to a fur felt, or if the results would be desirable. Can you share a picture of your actual hat? There are many variants of the licensed Indy hats.

I've sanded wool felt before..... My advice would be to get a fur felt hat.
