Just wanted to give a "shout out" to COW member "DarenHenryW" whom I had the great pleasure of meeting this afternoon, Sunday, January 10th.
Not only did he give me the opportunity to purchase a great fedora from him but, he was also kind enough to share his through knowledge of cracking the bullwhip which he had learned through Mr. Anthony Delongis. Though our meeting was for a couple of hours, it was time well spent in getting to a local, fellow COW member and an overall great, and mutlitalented, person.
In the brief time we spent together this early afternoon, thanks to his brief but detailed instructions, I was able to consistently crack my bullwhip in an hour than in YEARS past. Thank you, Daren. Though he has posted videos in the past, I wish I would've brought my still and video cameras for though I have some past experience in cracking the bullwhip but do consider myself a novice, Daren's skills were VERY impressive.
So, to any other local San Francisco Bay Area COW members or any COW members visiting the SF Bay Area who would not only like to better their bullwhip skills but, meet a fellow COW member and overall great person. I HIGHLY recommend meeting up with Daren.
Thank you again, Daren for everything.
Thank you COW Member "DarenHenryW"

Seconded; Daren's a great guy.
That said, interested Bay Area peeps should also check out Bullwhips by the Bay http://www.laughingbear.org/whippery.html to learn, teach, or gossip about the whipping arts.

Hello, Marc
Wow! Thanks for that awesome compliment. All I can say is that it's a lot of fun to meet up with COW members in person. Josh (InexorableTash) and I met at Bullwhips By the Bay, which is a great group of SF whip crackers. I would love to get together with them more often, but dragging my butt all the way out to Golden Gate Park can be a little hard for me on Sunday mornings.
And just so everyone knows, Marc is a super nice and appreciative guy. We had a great time talking about gear over coffee, then he picked up the HJ he bought from me, then he and I found a grassy spot near my neighborhood and cracked whips for a little over an hour. He and I had a number of very similar, some identical, whips. It was nice to see his Jacka Indy IV next to mine. They were twins (except mine has the "J" button" on the bottom). And his Strain 9' KOTCS looked like the twin brother of my 8' Joe Strain 8' whip. And he also has a beautiful 10' David Morgan bullwhip.
And yes, we will get together again and we'll take some video and pics of our gear and our whip fun!
If there are any of you out there in the East Bay and would like to be maybe start a group I'd more than happy to help lead or participate.
Thanks again, Marc!
