Hi guys.

I've had my pride and joy LC wested for around 8 years. Just noticed I have a small tear
on one of the arms, "the size of a finger nail" gone strait through to the cotten lining. Lamb is thin. :o

What do you recomend to do to repair it with please? :?

Thanks all.

It might be possible to glue it, you can also consult PETER what he thinks would be best for it.

There are places specialised in repairing leather garments. Maybe there is one near where you live...
I seem to remember having seen similar threads in the 'Gear Care & Distressing' section. There you could find some more help too.
Good luck,
Rask

if its a clean rip on one of the panels then its very easy to fix.

turn the sleeve inside out and cut open the lining were the rip is. then patch it with a small piece of skin and leather glue. sew shut and voila!

Thanks. Its half way down the arm very small tear gone right through the lining though. So it might be better to glue it. Where would you get the skin from?

It seems that one way to do it is exactly that, get into the lining somehow, (there is an access seam in the lining on one of the sleeves) then patch the reverse like you would patch a bicycle tyre. You can get leather repair kits that will fill the tear too or just take it to a dry cleaners that do leather repairs, just make sure they do it invisibly and don't try and stitch a patch on from the outside.

And if you can't sew well (which I can't) you can use that Stitch Witchery stuff to close the seam back. Just cut a piece to fit, iron it, and it closes the seam. I've done this on a couple jacket where a lining seam had split and it's held well.

Gemma says at Wested. That the only thing they can do is replace the panel. Like some said on here I was going to just use some leather glue and have a go at doing it my self.

Thanks for replies All. :)
