Help me choose the right hide for a LC jacket

Hi folks,
I would like to buy a LC jacket from WESTED (and from no one else)
I like reddish undertone of the LC jacket. What kind of hide should I choose?
The novapelle does not have the reddish undertone (can I create it with pecard?).
Copper novapelle? It seems too red and not brown with reddish undertoneā¦ Am I wrong?
Someone advised me the Analine cowhide but I am not sure of what it looks like.
The predistressed cowhide is nice but does not have the right colour.
Washed goat: no, the hide looks dull.
Goat : no already have one of those (not the right colour anyway).
Lamb? Shinny when new, And I don't want to distress it the "hard way", this one could be the right one since it was used for the movieā¦
Sorry to bother you with a question I already asked but I do not know what to do.
Can you post some pics of your LC jackets in different hide?
By the way, I think we (COW) should make a hide chart with pictures, close ups and overalls, in order to choose more wisely. A can of a famous cola maker can be used as a reference.
Regards,
Nico

No leather I've seen from Wested will produce a jacket that looks like the LC jacket you see on screen.
With proper distressing though, you can make something that looks pretty close. Search the board for Knibs' distressed LC from a few months back. It was lamb, I think, and the finished product looked great.
For something that looks like the screen jacket directly from the maker, you're out of luck with Wested, I'm afraid.
Tony Nowak's LC jackets are incredibly accurate, but in a different ballpark pricewise.

well, Lambskin will produce this look. the reason why it looks red underneath is because of the lighting sometimes. get lambskin and you also will get the red undertones if caugth under the right light. the original jacket did not allways have red undertones, it had light brown undertones just like the lamsbkins from wested today.
but if you want to cheat, there also are two leathers from wested that have this look. one is aniline cowhde and the other is dark brown soft cowhide.
both have red undertones. non of them are shown here on cow since they are so new.

Hey Holt,
Do you have any samples of the new hides that you could post pics of against one of your Wested jackets for reference?

contact wested and ask for samples. thats my best advice. you will never really get the correct look of the sample skins via pictures.

that s what I did!
I have the predistressed, novapelle and washed goat.
They forgot to send me the copper novapelle...
Unfortunaly I think I'll have to choose not exactly what I want and forget my beloved "reddish undertone".
Is there someone here who have an alanine jacket by wested?
regards

the new aniline cowhide and the dark br soft cowhide are completly new skins. they are just a litle over a month old.
the aniline cowhide distresses very easy. just like novapella. but unlike the novapella it has red undertones. but not as much as the picture above. but not far from it either.

Just to re-iterate what has been said before. The color you are seeing is obviously not what the jacket looked like in person. Lighting is a huge factor, but also post-processing... look how green the trees are, or the how red the skin looks. This image is over saturated, to match the color exactly would look like a cartoon version of the jacket in real life IMO;)

yes you are very correct.
this is exactly the same with the Raiders jacket which is in fact a mid brown colored leather jacket, but the stage lights and other lighting makes it look almost black.
this picture of this original LC jacket is what I think is the closest to what it looks like in real life. and the analine cowhide is a very close match to this skin. both in top finish and in undertones.

You are right Toth and Holt!
I realize that the lights on stage (and saturation) have modified the colour of the jacket.
I'll ask for that s new hide and see what it is like.
I'll send a picuture of it if my jacket is made of it.
Thank you
Nico
