Made my first nylon bullwhip-New pics of my second whip

It was so much easier the second time around for sure. I was able to do it in about half the time.

This one is a 8ft, 16 plait nylon bullwhip, I also used different materials for the handle, core, and bolster. I got the handle loop the right length this time, lol. It cracks extremely smooth with very little effort.

Its also going to be for sale in the Cairo Bazaar for a low price: http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=45300

I like the taper in the whip. The only thing I would object to is the very short wristloop, but that's only aesthetic. Congratulations!

Happy New Year!

Aldo.

Thanks, I know the loop is small, I didn't account the extra length I would need because of the turks head knot. The way the the knot wraps around the bottom of the handle cinched up about 2+in. of the wrist loop.

Nice work. Just curious, I don't own a whip but was wondering why you used nylon? I that the material suggested to learn with before moving onto the more expensive leathers?

I fixed a couple of things, and took some better pics, not from a cell phone this time.

My second Indy whip is just about done!

I can't speak for fuzzjunk's choice, but based on what I've read here the cost of materials for nylon whips is significantly less. Basically a 1000' spool of nylon paracord gets you started. Some have written that it's easier to learn with nylon, but others have written leather is easier for learning. :-k

I own a nylon whip. The reason I went with nylon was the lower purchase price for a whip I'll only crack occasionally. There is significantly less maintenance involved with a nylon whip and it can be used in all weather as opposed to a leather whip that shouldn't be used in very wet conditions. :whip: I specifically went with the maker I did based on the positive reviews from BullWhipBorton.

Regards,

Indiana Jeff

You nailed it Indiana Jeff, took the words right out of my mouth. :whip:

I am going to try a kip hide whip soon, once I find a supplier locally to buy the hides.

Thanks for the kind words.
