Sounds interesting and the first time I've heard of such a thing. Can you post an image of it?

Sewing in the zipper creates the storm flap stitch line. How did they sew in the zipper?

This one was made from the new copper novapelle leather. Have a look...
....otherwise it is a nice jacket.

...so do you think it's SA, and we just missed that particular frame of film?

I don't understand how they sewed the zipper in without the stitches forming the storm flap, it should be sewn through.
Does the jacket have inside facings? Is the zipper just sewn to the lining?

Yes it is a custom jacket. The old copper n/p was on clearance, and i bought it, but the body was too short and the sleeves too long. I sent it back and ordered a custom in the new copper n/p, that looks alot like CS leather. Just received it today.
RC, the zipper is sewed into the inside edge of what should have been the storm flap. The zipper, edge of the lining and the inside of the storm flap look to be sewed together as one piece.

It appears to be a very well made jacket, all things considered.

A hassle, no doubt, but send it back and Peter will fix the stitching. Not a big deal except for the time without the jacket.

Look at the bright side; at least you didn't get the mutant collar tab they sent out a couple of months back. That was... very wrong.
I'd say, return it and ask for shipping reimbursement. Or a partial refund to have the job done locally.

Chewie might be lucky enough to have a good local leather tailor, but I don't. Unless you have someone local you can trust, I seriously recommend you send it back to Wested. Maybe it's just that there are no great leather tailors in my city, but I had my sleeves taken in by someone locally and I ended up sending it back to Peter to have done properly. They didn't even use double-sided tape. i doubt they knew what that even is.

If it weren't for the whole SA issue, I would say it looks better. I kinda like the cleaner front. I'm not sure though. Can we see a pic of you wearing it?

Well that's a first. Never seen that before.
We are so busy checking measurements and details we miss what is staring us in the face a missing seam.
If you want to send it back I will turn it straight round and pay the postage.
Apologies

I'm half way tempted to keep it that way, just because it is so rare. I'll have to think on that one....

Cuts two ways, my friend. Should you decide NOT to keep it, it may be a stumbling block toward a sale. Some see 'rarity', but others see 'mistake'.

Although the error should have been caught before shipment, when problems arise, this is how a company which truly values its customers handles them.
