Is aAlden Updating the 405?

I read either here on over at the Lounge that Alden might be offering more than one option when it comes to the 405. Does this jive with what anyone else has heard?

They way I understand it, they have three different varieties of Truebalance shoe system, the 405, 86, and 87, but there is only one 405, unless you could all the different widths.

You fellas should find all the info about the upcoming 405 "Update" models set to release the first part of next year...I already have my order in for the 403's...Long story short there will be 3 versions of the 405 each with variations...Also the cloth lining is gone on all the models including the 405...But as I said it's all in this thread...

I understand that the 'new model' 405 is out at some retailers, though I do not know which and have not searched them out. I would like a new pair if anyone has found a retailer with a decent price, they are supposed to be the same price since they are a replacement and not an upgrade. Does Schmidty (sp?) have either of these, or will he I wonder? I'd rather order with him, even if there is a wait.

Disregard the questions about Schmidty's boot sales, I just caught over in the vendor section he has 'retired'. Sorry to hear. Time to search a new source.

Dang I love that 405 with the lug sole! I live in the Great North Wet (West) and between the water and ice the standard sole I hear is a bit slippery. I would have liked to of seen a model with the 403 uppers with the 405 sole. Would make an ultimate traction Indy boot.
