keep warm while on your adventure

Hey folks, its been a while.

With the weather beginning to turn I'm sure alot of you are feeling the cold in your Indy jackets, I know I am. So I ventured out to the shops and found a fleece which looks pretty good with my Wested washed goat.

The knitted cuffs gives it an A-2 look.

I got it in the Glasgow UK branch of Primark for £8!

cheers

Scott.

TOTALLY looks like an A-2 (which I don't like), but upon closer inspection, I could see that it wasn't an A-2. Still, it does address the cold weather concerns for the Indy jacket, which are the breeze going up your back and down your neck!

Nice find. I would definitely prefer a MOTB sweater, but I wouldn't want to pay $150 for one.

It does look like an A-2 now. I'm lucky really cold weather isn't that much of a concern here in Arkansas. If it's freezing here, just wait a few minutes and it will be warm agian. LOL

As soon as I saw it I knew it'd do the business. I've got an A2 style jacket too, but I much prefer my Wested ;)

Now that's a nice idea! I was thinking about a "convertable" Indy jacket myself lately, but your idea is as simple as good. Very good! And yes, the knitted cuffs make it look very much like an A-2 ...

I'm really interested in seeing your other photos, but the link you posted asks for a password ...

Guys, what do you think of this shearling jacket from Orvis?

I know it's not Indy but looks warm and sharp.

However, the price is an eye-watering $2,500!

This is probably the only other one of interest

Just the fleece on its own. I had it on under my Wested today, not really the coldest day in Scotland but I could totally feel the benefit. It'll certainly be welcome once winter really kicks in.

That shearlings nice, but the price is insane!

Great, thanks for sharing - yes, you're right: this picture's of interest. Nice to see the "inlet" completely. Looks really good! I will have to keep my eyes open to find something like that, too.

I find fleeces a bit bulky for under an Indy. I have a thin turtleneck cardigan that is quite warm, and work great.

This does bulk up a bit but not to the point that its inhibitive. I really hate feeling cold so this is ideal for ontop of my base layers with my Indy to finish off :)

Jens, Primark do have stores in Germany, so you might be able to find this exact fleece.

Really? I didn't know about that! Awesome ... thanks for the info. I will start looking for one of their shops right now! Thanks again!

Edit: Ah, found 'em - unfortunately only in Bremen or Frankfurt. Too far away ... maybe I'll find a friend near there to contact and help me out. Anyway - thanks again!

There are various stores in Madrid :) . Maybe I will take a look. I think I could use that too.

WOW! Awesome job on the distressing! It's a very SA LC look. Did you use a wire brush or sandpaper? ;) :Plymouth:

Sorry, Rover I couldn't resist as I've been reading way too many posts on the variety and degrees of jacket distressing. The fleece is a great find and goes very well with the jacket. Once I get my jacket I'll be looking for something very similar to wear under it during winter.

Cheers,

Swiftfoot

Today it was pretty cold and rainy here in Georgia, so I bundled up with a Devold wool undershirt from David Morgan, worn under a regular T-shirt, and finally my Wested novapelle zipped up with the storm flap snapped shut. It kept me toasty warm all day, and it would probably work well under a good Indy shirt, too (the Wested Raiders model is a bit heavier than the Noel Howard).

Darn, most of us don't have a volcano handy, otherwise we'd be all over this new distressing method.
