This is my latest artsee resin replica. Just repainted it myself as I wasn't too happy with the paint job it came with. I'm reasonably happy with the result I think ... looks better than it did anyhow

Did you just get that replica from artsee?? How much was it? I have been really torn between Todd's and maybe someone's replica. Very nice job on the paint. Thanks for sharing.

Yes - it was some crazy price like $130 - and he wouldn't sell me an unpainted one either. Todd's is nice but there's no way I'd get one through customs - Even Artsee's replica is illegal here if painted in a realistic fashion :?

Is this the replica that is currently being sold on Ebay? I have been looking at those - they look pretty good and thanfully I have some painting skills so I can 'revamp' the paint job - you set the standard for me!
Can anyone tell me how SA this replica is?

Love that model and look! :)

I'm currently looking for something similar for the real world in .357 that will fit right in my holster for camping but still look Indy

Having compared it to the screen used version, I'd say the model is spot on (not my paint job but the actual model). They can be a bit rough and might require a bit of filler and sanding before you repaint

Did you strip down the paint then repaint it? Or did you just paint over the pre existing paint job?
I've been looking at these replicas on Ebay for a while now but seeing how good yours looks really makes me wanting one even more.
Can you share what paint colors and types of paint you used to finish it off? :-k

I gave it a quick sanding to get rid of rough bits that were there and used some filler on a few dents - So , I didn't remove all the old paint. I then gave it a coat of matt black arcylic (spray). I then used the pencil technique I discovered on this forum. Just take a soft (I used a 7B) pencil and rub it over all the rasied areas of the metal part of the gun - this gives a good metalic sheen without being too sparkly! I then dry brushed some silver acrylic over areas that I wanted to appear more worn. The handle was dry brushed with a couple of different shades of brown. The whole thing was then coated with several coats of acrylic varnish - satin first then a very light coat of matt. Hope that helps :)

Thanks General :) It actually looks a bit better than it does in those photos which haven't really done it justice to be honest. I have one of Wades WG's on the way so I'm looking forward to having a crack at that too.
