Can anybody here give me a good instructional on how to tie a bow tie? I've searched youtube and instructables.com and haven't come up with anything great. Found me a excellent close enough TOD bow tie in a thrift store today for $1.34.
Now need to know how to tie it.

The fact that you don't know how to tie a bow tie doesn't scare me. Grown men with clip on ties do.
It's a sad thing when men aren't familiar with the art of regular tie tying.
I haven't found a tutorial that was very clear on the subject myself. I'd like to know even if I don't own one at present.. it's a look I'd like to try some day though.

You can think of it link tying a shoelace around your neck. That's one way. Here are some other links to look at:

The nice thing about the bowtie is that after you tie it, you can really mess with it and adjust it a lot. So as long as you get the knot in, even if the "wings" look terrible, you can fix them. The most important thing is to just get the knot in! Plus, once you figure it out, you become really cool. Not many people know how to tie bowties! We're an exclusive club.
Good luck!

It's something that takes practice to figure out what works best for you. I used an online tutorial, but there's still an art to it. I used to wear one almost every day, but would probably have to look it back up again to figure it out.

For giggles, I looked up some of these and tried them and figured out something... it differs a little if you're tying it left handed or right handed! The way I tie by bows is actually a bit reversed from most of the tutorials I've seen, but it works for me!
