Hatjacks?

I did a cursory scan and then used the search option, but there was no results. I find it hard to believe they haven't been discussed here before. Anyway, can anyone recommend to me a good hatjack that perhaps some of the members here use or is most popular?

Where did you look?
Here's at least one thread I found that covered it pretty well.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42375&hilit=hat+jack
Try 'hat jack' instead of one word.
You can also try 'hat stretcher' for another.
Example:

"There are two types of people in the world..." Arch definitely has the coolest handle around IMHO. This week is spirit week at the High School that I teach at. Thursday is costume day. I'm going as the Man with No Name, complete with my Penman refurbed cowboy hat and Slim Jims for cigars!

For some strange reason I thought this was going to be about people with masks and guns holding our lids for ransom...

Pictures, and comments with sources, please. I think I put one of these together, but it ended up getting spread all over the house, so I'm not sure if I could pull it together. The boots would be my toughest match. I have a pair of old black boots, but nothing like what Clint wears. I'm going to go look for it right now. You most likely can't carry even replica guns in your holsters, IF you can even wear those.

I think you'd be ok, as let's face it...like Indy, folks don't remember a whole lot of details.
In the case of Eastwood's character: Hat, poncho, gunbelt and cigar (slim jims in your case). No one will remember the boots, so I think you're good to go.
Another thing to mention is that one of the MAIN items that was ALWAYS present with that character were the noisy spurs he wore. You rarely saw them (if at all), but anytime Eastwood moved, those spurs made their presence known.

Weird, weird, coincidence Michaelson...
I just walked back to my office from a meeting and to start my afternoon break... and spent the walk humming
"I got spurs that jingle-jangle..."
(A tune I've been humming - on occasion - for years & years and I could
NOT tell you where I first heard it even if my life depended on it!)
And
then I started reading this thread!
That - for me - is the SECOND major "regular life stuff meets Club Obi wan reference" concidence in just a couple of weeks!
Life
IS strange sometimes... no doubt about it...

Yeah...mine is most definately thrown together. I regularly wear cowboy boots that are the perfect match. My hat is a near perfect match (no bound edge). My poncho is not even close (hard to justify 400 bucks for a poncho, leather jacket...yes). And yes I can wear holsters buy not replica guns, Ive got the OK from my principal for a rubber band gun, we'll do something with that in physics class. And yes Michaelson, I have spurs.
Sorry to Jack your thread about Jacks, Jack...er..Arch!

This thread has gotten quite off topic, but I love it. I reckon it still has to do with hats. My younger brother is going as The Man With No Name to some party this year as well. I was just in Arizona last week for a couple days so he called and asked me to find him an authentic looking poncho. In one gift shop they actually had a postcard of Eastwood in his garb so I bought it and then went around looking for one that matched. I found one in Scottsdale that not only looks good, but almost exact. As if it were perhaps produced as an attempt at screen accuracy. And it was only like 12 bucks. I mailed it to him, and needless to say he was beyond geeked. But I don't think anyone notices that sort of thing anyway.

Off topic? Hardly!
There's a scrap of useable information about hat jacks up there somewhere...I think....

I'm not positive that you were writing to me, but in case you were, I did get the spurs, hat (Peter Bros with SA leather band), poncho, saddlebags, railroad striped shirt, custom gun belt and holster with silver fake bullets (now sufficiently tarnished so they don't look new) , silver snakes embedded in the Western Navy 1851 replica gun grips (it may be blank shooter, I'm not sure, I just know it is not a real gun, with a plugged end), and black neck scarf. Peter Bros first said they would, then ended up not putting the bullet hole in the hat, and deferred that distressing act to me. I'm just naturally pale white, so I'd have to dirty up or go for a spray on tan to get Clints' weathered look.
My spurs are straight out of their protective bubble wrap, just ten minutes ago, and the reason I just found out, as to why they are so noisy, is that there are two bell-like dangles that sound like little bells as they bounce against the spiked wheel part of the spurs. I think I'm being taken to a dance on Halloween night, so wearing these spurs will be a noisy affair. I just don't think I'll keep the sheep skin vest and poncho on too long once we're inside.

You can see a rattlesnake on one side of my pistol grips in this post:

There's also some information a post or two down from the picture about some of my sources. I was actually inspired to do this Clint Eastwood costume by someone on COW. He looked great in the photos he posted and I got excited because of him. Then my OCD took over.
