whip basics and Robby Amper Shenanigans!

I know I am new here and don’t have much clout but I really like it here and the people here so I feel I gotta bring this situation 2 attention. B4 i came here I was a long time member of whip basics community forum. I preferred to lurk n read though and not be active till recently when Robby made the whip basics forum private n threatened people that if they didnt post er talk he would delete them. Something happened there today that was not Kewl! and it involved the Adventure bilt bull whip a thread originally on COW. http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=41940
let me repost what happend tho so u can all read it for yourselves!
The AB & Midwestwhips Raiders whip
All because we stood up 4 ourselfs, posted our opinions we where bullied, threatened n banished because what we said was truthful but challenged Robby Ampers “supreme authority” But it’s A.O.K for Robby and his “clique ” to bash COW every time they can, i they criticize the members here, the way the forums here are run here. They mock the people who like the screen accurate indiana jones bull whips made by the likes of Joseph Strain, Bernardo DelCarpio and MidWest whips even referring to Bernardo as “DelCRAPio” and they continue to stir up trouble and drama. But as soon as someone stands up for themselves or civilly speaks out against what Robby is doing, They get banished, how is this right? He’s acting like a nazi a dictator a tyrant and this This is just WRONG Its like hes got a vendetta against COW n its members.
I am no longer welcome n cant post on whip basics but am letting my feelings be known and telling my friends in the whip communities what happen there. People need 2 know so I wanna go on the record and condemn Robby Amper 4 what he is doing and hope that the members of whip-basics and its whip-basics whip making team stands up to him and wont t let him Robby bully every1 around. He has even deleted LemonLauran of Midwest whips 2 because she is too busy crafting whips to post a lot to give him the attention he demands even though every post she has made is nothing but kind and helpful. Of course all her posts up so people there can still use them!.
This is WRONG and I have lost all respect for Robby Amper, now I understand why he and whip basics are such a joke in the professional whip communities so stand up for your rights before his own hypocritical dictatorship hurts your credibility, he is the worst thing to happen to the sport and hobby of whip cracking ever!
Thank you all for listening to me and letting me get this off my chest. This situation has made me sick to my stomach, I am totally against this absolute and uncalled for abuse of power and I wont sit by and keep silent in the eyes of tyranny and bullies and blatant power abuse when some1 that spits on you behind when ur back is turned comes here and smiles 2 ur face pretending to be your friend!

The AB & Midwestwhips Raiders whip

Mark from Adventurebilt and Paul from Midwestwhips created that screen accurate Raiders whip. It was introduced in the Cow forum and Mark was heavily bashed & beaten. Can anyone here explain what was wrong with that whip?
You don't have to talk about the money. Mark has to pay everything here, and meanwhile everybody should know about german VAT & taxes.
I know that it's very expensive.
But what was wrong on that whip? I'm not an expert when it comes to that sa (screen accurate) thing. Okay, I know it was 12 plait, natural tan, had a wrist loop and a simple heel knot.
Mark was critisised veeery hard and he had nearly no one to help him. But what was wrong with that whip? I cracked it, and it was a really good whip. Here we have some experts on that sa design. Could you figure me out what was wrong with that? Paul Nolan really knows the original Indy whip, and he's held as one of the greatest whipmakers when it comes to the Indy whip; together with Bernardo DelCarpio and Joe Strain. What was wrong with that one?

Nothing was wrong with that whip, I guess. For me it is the most beautiful indy whip ever created, it beats other hands down.
When it comes to SA, all I can say - it's veeery SA.
Someone can say that other makers make SA whips, but here wins matter of taste. If I only had sooo much money...

DelCarpioWhipsWrote"Heavily bashed and beaten???" Honestly, I don't know where you got that. Maybe we are reading different COW forums! I am a member there, and I read it every day to avoid missing anything, although I rarely post these days, because I don't have the time. Back to the topic, I read the thread on COW, and I fail to see where Paul's whip was bashed and beaten. It had nothing but positive comments, in fact, a bunch of guys placed orders with Marc. The only criticisms that surfaced were regarding of some of Marc's statements, which were obviously due to ignorance on the subject, since he is no whip expert. I think he was really excited with this project, and it showed in his post.
Some comments were made about the high price tag, that was in the same level as a Morgan whip. That is to be expected, as not everybody sees why they have to pay more for a given item, when you can get a similar one for less. In fact, you are posting comments all the time about how overpriced and overrated Morgan whip are, and why we should pay that much for those whips. Some people thought that Marc's whip was priced too high. Nothing wrong with that. Morgan whips and Marc's whips are not within everyone's budget.
One of the things I like about COW is that when you post something, people will actually tell you what they think, in a polite and respectful manner, unlike here, where you post something and everyone start singing the praises you. That's to be expected here since this is a very SMALL online community, -and is getting even smaller with your new rules- where most of you are friends who have similar opinions about the different subjects. But on COW, things are different. If you post something people are not interested in, then they won't post back. That's why you haven't gotten a single reply to your posts many times. On the other hand, if you post something people are interested in, you'll get lots of replies, and a variety of answers, from members that you don't know, and that are not your friends, or are not associated to you or your business in any way.
To sum up, I think Marc's whip did extremely well there. In fact, many fans purchased whips from him, at the same time as from other whipmakers like Joe Strain and myself. I am sure when they start to receive their valued whips, they will post again commenting on how great they are. Paul and Lauren make great whips, so that is hardly a surprise.

Just talk to Marc. And yes - he was bashed there.

If you don't like these rules, you don't have to be here. And one more comment like that into my direction, and you dont have to bother about this place anymore.

ok... this thread got a little out of hands.
@robby: well done, I totaly understand your reaction
but back to topic: I as well did not understand the reaction on the COW. It is quite expensive but being more sa than a modern Morgan whip it is the thing to go for if you are looking for the perfect indy whip. It is just like the AB hat. Everybody wants perfect gear and say spend a bloody fortune on AB hats, jackets from Tony Nowak, AB boots from alden and all that stuff. The AB, Nowak, aldens are all on the same price level as is the whip: awefully expensive but in some way they are worth it.
For me a wested jacket is good enough, a akubra Federation or the AB henry are good enough, my good old Doc MArtens are good enough so I don't have to spent all that money on nowak and alden. But when Marc came running up to me when I arrived in cologne for the summit (we never met before in our whole life) and when I save how excited he was when he pulled out that whip and handed it to me before I could say hello to anyone else, I instantly fell in love with it.
It felt so good and has all those little flaws nearly every screen used whip had! It is a whip with a whole lot of character and it indeed is the most sa whip out there right now. (at least the whips I know of)
So... long storie short: number 36 of the 10 ft whips is reserved for me. And having spoken to MArc lately: he really didn't sell many. just a few couple of them.
the reaction on the cow was (in my eyes) not only cold but hostile! I don't know whether I got something wrong but reading that thread and seeing the enormous reaction on robbys charity (can't help being sarcastic for a second) the cow kinda repels me. I really son't like to be on the board anymore. Many members are not in any way unfriendly but the atmosphere is tensed and often a little bit too aggressiv for me. And as far as I'm concerned I don't see people telling what they think... just what they don't like because their stuff is always better.......
just my 2 cents
Fortune and Glory, kid!

The whip looked sweet,i'd buy one but it was too much with th german taxs. Plus it seems stupid to order a whip from germany to have it made in the USA to send to germany then have it sent back to me in the USA
