Current Aldens Make Halloween Noises

Well,

The replacement Aldens I received from Schmidty seem to be faring better than the previous pair - but one thing these new Aldens have in common with the other current generation pair I also had - SQUEAKY.

They sound like creaky doors in old haunted houses! I've tried to Pecard the tongues and loosen the laces a bit to give them some room to breathe, but nothing seems to help. Looks like my 2001 era pair still reign supreme.

Good thing I don't have to sneak up on anyone in the office today. They're so loud it's actually kinda silly.

You probably know this already, but those squeaks do get exorcised with time. ;) My pair from early last year squeaked like mad when new, but half a year later, they became silent, and those I don't forsee those hinges needing any oiling any time soon!

So, it's just a matter of giving them a good breaking in? Cool.

Even my AB Aldens do that sometimes, but with wear it will eventually get better, I guess they are squeaky clean right now French. Some Pecards might help, but in the long run wearing them will get rid of the squeaks.
