Okay so I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new jacket.(Nowak Raiders Shrunken) I have been doing a little research and I was wondering something that I have discovered.
It seems to me that the yoke length is a little different on each jacket? Is this true? Raiders seems to be the shortest? And LC and KOTCS are the longest? Also TOD is in the middle of them. So is this true or is indyzane going crazy?
No don't answer that! Thanks for you help!

Since this topic is up, I thought I would ask a couple questions: Is it true to assume that a shorter yoke makes the action pleats more functional, since they extend farther up towards the shoulders? Does an accurate reproduction of a Raiders jacket have better freedom of movement than an TofD, LC/CS? Thanks guys.

The shorter yoke will make the action pleats more functional, as the pleat will start higher up the back. Just put your jacket on and hold the pleats higher or lower and you can see how the pleats are restricted or unrestricted.

Indyzane, if you are going to order a Nowak jacket you do not need to send a list of specs, unless there is something specific you want TN to customise for you. All you need to do is give your sizes. He will walk you through it.

You don't buy a TN Raiders to go mucking around with the specs of the jacket, though it is your option. You buy a TN because it was copied from one of/or the hero jacket, the hide choice, and Tony’s craftsmanship and service.
You don’t buy a TN Raiders for pleats that work. It’s a copy of an original. The pleats are shallow. The jacket has lots of character, but the pleats are shallow.
If you want a jacket where the pleats work, go to G&B. Theirs is the only one that incorporated military attributes so the pleats function properly. Cheers

Doesn't Tony's CS jacket have a similar set-up as the G&B? I mean, I was under the impression that the pleats on a CS jacket were fully functional as well and even has elastic bands to close them

Two totally different jackets. I know that the CS jacket is as a whole more functional. I thought that he was ordering a Raiders jacket though.

Yeah I know. guess I was just focussing too much on the "only one" part of it
For a Raiders I believe you are right though.

Minor details that one may consider small can be major to somebody else. We all have a bit of tunnel vision on this forum, where we think that our wants and likes are universal for everybody. As such, there are many distorted pictures painted. Not pointing fingers, just stating an opinion. Cheers

Considering the previous exchange and my personal likes jacket-wise it may seem strange, but i couldn't agree more
Everyone should just get the items
they like best, for whatever reason. Its going to be
their jacket or random other item so everybody should support them in that. JMO

Yes the TN CS jacket does have functional pleats with elastic, but as Rundquist pointed out it is a completely different thing to the Raiders.
I've only see photos of the G+B Raiders style jacket but it's pleats and inner lining appear to be made in a similar way to the G-1, and the G-1 pleats are functional. So in that respect the Raiders from G+B is likely the only Raiders jacket with truly functional pleats.
