I am very happpy and proud to introduce you what I consider the ultimate bullwhip for me!
This is an 8ft 20-plait australian bullwhip made by whipmaker Benjamin Scott.
What's in it? just have a look at Ben's website:
http://www.whipartist.com/AustralianBullwhips.html
I wouldn't be able to describe it better than he does.

Benjamin Scott is really a great whipmaker: We spend many months to decide what kind of hanlde pattern to choose:
The name plaiting is my Idea and Ben's talent!!!
You can see "Jean fifi" plaited on the handle. "Jean" on on side, and "fifi" on the other.
It's a custom bullwhip, one unique master piece.

As for cracking, I can't say how easy it is!!!! Really I am amazed: so light, so well balanced.
It takes a trial to understand the feeling.
For example, it's the first time I perform the volley so easily.....incredible, just incredible.

I am very very happy of this whip: it's both a beauty and a big challenge for a beginner whipmaker like me:
I hope, one day, to be able to make such a beautifull and functionnal whip.

Ben Scott has so unique style of whipmaking that I won't ever confuse it with other makers.
How do you like his pipe and spring foundation?
I love that smooth plaiting!

Thank you everybody!

héhé yes indeed I am very proud to own this beauty!!

tomek9210, the spring transition is really a pleasure during practice, and one very clever way to make this transition durable for years and years.....

usually I reinforce my transition zone with artificial sinew, but I shall try one day that spring transition......

Cheers!

Welcome To Club Obi Wan, JeanFifi.

Très bien! That is a very impressive whip! I remember when Ben first started making Indy whips, It seems like many years ago now but even back then he did very good work. I know he's also been heavily influenced by the late great whip maker Cecil Henderson’s work, it shows through!

Thank you Dan,

Indeed I didn't even introduce myself. In French forums there is a topic just for the presentations and I guess there is such a place here, isn't there?
Anyway, I am not a big computer fan :D so I apologize.

Dan, I look at your "Myspace" and discover a big beautifull site ! Amazing, congratulations!!! Is that a website or kind of "facebook"?

As for whipmaker Cecil Henderson, there is an article from Paul Nolan's I like very much:
http://www.midwestwhips.com/cecilhendersonarticle.pdf
I suppose everyone knows it.... :-k

No worries JP, introductions are typically kept informal but I did want to make sure to welcome you to the forum. I’ve also enjoyed seeing some of your own whips that you have made.

Thank you for the kind words about my myspace. I'm glad you like it and yes it is more of a personal web site along the lines of facebook.

I appreciate you sharing that link to Paul’s article too. I’ve had the pleasure of discussing Henderson and his work at great length with Paul on many occasions. That’s a great article that he put together.
