My authentic lambskin Wested jackets have sleeves that have risen up between 1 and 1.5 inches after a few months and a few showers of rain. On my latest I got 26.5" sleeves that are now a little over 25" with eight months of wear.
Anyone able to state how before and after sleeve measurements on their 747 jackets once broken in?
Cheers

Mine shrank a little after a good soaking in the rain - I think i lost about an inch off the sleeves, but they were long enough for it not to matter much.

Sleeves take up some as they develop wrinkling, but I doubt they actually 'shrink'
My 'Happy Cow' has taken up some in the sleeves, but measuring them they are actually the same length.

Yeah, it's not really shrinking is it? More like a concertina effect.
Tidy information, thanks.
RC – what is "Happy Cow"? Can you point me towards some photos?
Cheers

It's the leather my ToD (which is on this forum with photos) was made from.. The photos don't really do it justice though.
It's a leather developed by Tony essentially to distress easily and show a nice brown undertone.

Thats how my jacket is.. not shrunken sleeves but wrinkled! i ordered the sleeves almost 2in longer then normal and its totally normal feeling now..
i also ordered the back longer and now it seems as if its the same length as the front..weird huh?

Man, this again. I don't doubt your story, but after 20 odd leather jackets from almost as many makers, I have never had sleeves shrink in that way. Never, not once... I know it is meant to be a possibility, but never in my experience over 25 years.

Does it have to do with how tight the jacket fits on your arms?

Congrats on the new jacket. Tony's Raiders jacket is pretty sweet, huh? How do you like the 747 cow?

Got it in my sweaty little hands. I'm absolutely loving this leather. Once it's worn in some and some of the shine has been knocked off, it's going to have a very Indy vibe. In terms of weight, it's somewhere between my CS and the shrunken lamb jacket I owned. One of my favorite leathers that I've owned.

Great jackets guys and I think you'll find it only gets better in short order. Get it wet and your sleeves will look superb.

You are now officially my bestest friend!
Yeah, I've cut back on portion sizes and have dropped 20 pounds this year.
And thanks for all of the comments. This is a very special leather imo that's only going to get better with age.

DarenHenryW,
I had to do a double-take to see that it wasn't Ford himself. Man, get a jungle or stone background on the photo and you're ready for filming. Fantastic shot!

I really appreciate that! I don't know why, but that pose of HF is my favorite for some reason, so I love trying to capture it!

Chrismans, how is the breaking in going? How shiny is the 747? From your inside pics, it is hard to tell. Is it glossy or G&B finish like? IF you have ever had an Indy jacket in goat, is the 747 heavier by much? I am about to order, but want to make certain that 747 is the skin I hope it to be. Thanks. Cowboy

@ Cowboy
Without a doubt, the 747 is my favorite leather I've ever had in a jacket of any kind. It is a bit shiny but the shine does begin to come off with wear. It has the molding/creasing capabilities of the shrunken lamb (not as much as the SL but in the same ballpark). Just incredibly soft and the grain is terrific. Going from memory, it weighs in roughly what my G and B goat did, maybe a little less. If we ever get any sun here again, I'll try to take some outdoor pics to better show the leather.
I'll buy other Indy jackets, even other Raiders jackets, I'm sure (and I enjoy wearing my other jackets, as well). But, from the way I view it right now, this is my "go to" jacket, the one I've been searching for. I can't find enough superlatives to describe this jacket. Seriously.

So it does drape? Is it a tough leather like goat or Novapel like?

Never examined Novapelle so I can't speak to a comparison but it is very soft and drapes well. Still feels that it would be a tough leather.
