while holidaying at the beach, a strong wind blew my FedDeluxe into the ocean. It didn´t get soaked, but it did get wet in places before I managed to grab it.
As it was salt water, any suggestions wot to do??

I´ve ¨sponged¨ out as much as I can, and it feels relatively dry to the touch

This happened to my Fed Deluxe too. I just let it dry and brushed the salt off, it was fine.

I can attest to this. I used to wear my Fed III to the beach to keep the sun off of my face, and it got SOAKED in salt water many a time. Once it dried, the salt brushed off.

How's the water where you live? is it really murky or is it more to the clear-ish side of the murkyness spectrum?

I wouldn't worry about it. I've swam in the ocean with an Ab and with an Akubra - both survived perfectly well to tell the tale.Admittedly, I did get some salt stains - but I thought they looked great, and actually I'm not so sure they weren't just sweat stains from wearing the hat on the beach all week. I remember the front pinch of the Ab got rather bleached out from all the sun, seawater and sweat after a week's holiday on the beach - looked very well travelled!
