Well ladies and gents it's time to dust off those jackets! It's Autumnal Equinox On September 22 2009. I can't wait to start wearing my new Wested washed goat! Enjoy.

Yep. Wore my US Wings A2 for the first time this weekend and just gave it a gentle treatment of Pecard today. I'm ready!

I've been watching the weather for temperatures. It's a love/hate thing as I don't like winter but I love wearing my jackets. Why couldn't it just be fall for 6 months?

Layer, man...layer!

I wore my jackets the entire time I lived in Southern Ohio, snowfall and all.

I jost got a wested lamb LC in july for my 15th birthday and I can't wait to put it on. Living in Indiana it tends to get cold in early October.

I definitely layer and wear them through the winter. I just would rather wear them in 50-65 degree weather with some nice color on the trees rather than all that gray drabness.

Down here we have one week of Spring, and one week of Fall, so I 'feel your pain'.

Same here in Illinois we have 2 seasons summer and winter. still warm here but I'm sure it's going to get cold fast.

Yes, and make sure you have at least one jacket that allows for layering: you don't want to get Indy-withdrawal mid winter

I wish I could wear mine now, but it's still in the mid 80's here in South Carolina.

Here in Houston we have two seasons, Summer, and February.

But a Wested being uninsulated should allow me to wear it more than most jackets.

I would, but it's 80 and humid here in Philly. What's more, my jacket DESPERATELY needs to have a new liner put in, but I'm reluctant to send it off to Merry Olde England for who knows how long. Say....maybe I'll post a thread on that....

I got a really nice e-mail from Gemma saying my jacket will be done and ship off tomorrow. A cool front just rolled through Houston... I sure hope that it gets here by early next week!

Once it does ship you should get it quite Fast. Might even beat the tracking number email

I'm generally a pretty patient guy, unless I'm waiting on something that I find really cool. I spent a lot of time here researching the Indy jackets and mulled over my order for many many days before I was confident that I had what I wanted. Now, it's been torture waiting to get it.

Yep, just broke out my jacket yesterday on a chilly, rainy Saturday!

The temperature here in Mini-Soda just dropped, so it seemed like the perfect time to bring out my ole Wested Washed Goat. I love this jacket and it feels good to be able to wear it again!

Well NOAA is saying that it's going to be snowing at my house! They're saying it's going to snow 12-20 inches above 7000 feet above sea level. I live at 7,400 feet. This is truely amazing. It's already a snow & rain mix right now. Wish me luck!

Yep! I saw the same forecast for Wyoming, so hang in there, old friend. They're saying it's supposed to be a long, cold winter this round. Bundle up!

I got a little excited this morning. While sitting at my home computer sipping on my first cup of coffee, I felt our home furnace kick on for the first time this season, so it must have gotten a little chilly last night.

somedays its still tee shirt wheather here where I live in Norway too. allthough I can feel the fall is on its way on other days....

what freaked me out was up in the north we had 15'' of snow fall in one single day. it was really scary since we have never gotten so much so in one time and never in september.

and the most scary parts was that people where still driving on the summer tires.

That's why winter is ALWAYS interesting in the South here in the U. S.

All we HAVE are 'summer tires', so anytime it snows or there's ice on the road, somehow folks get it in their minds that if they drive FASTER, they'll be less likely to slide! Needless to say what happens.....

I have been wearing my Todd standard for the most part since last Sat. but I have thrown on the Wested novapelle a couple of times this week. I need to get a coat of Pecard's on the Wested this weekend.

Not only did my jacket see the light of day this morning for the first time since May, but I actually turned the heat on for a bit to, hmm, test the system... yeah, thats it, test the system!
Morning temps started at 45.

In the fifties the last few mornings so I got to break out my Nowak LC. Probably a little too heavy for the temps but I hadn't got to wear it out yet.

Under 40 F on my drive to work this morning. I actually had to use the heater in my car!

I had to turn on the furnace this morning. That funny smell when you turn on the furnace was defiantly present. Like my earlier post stated it was snowing at my house we received 6 inches of snow yesterday! Wow that was a shock!

I was cold yesterday, and I live in Illinois,had on my otr goat from wested, I think I got wet,or a chill from being down town becasue when I went to get my son later out in the burbs I switched to the heavier horse hide A-2,and usually I'm fine with a sweat shirt and the goat.

jacksdad, I'm not sure where you live but in Illinois we have 4 seasons. Spring, Winter, Summer, and Fall. You mentioned above that we have 2 seasons.

Hah! I live north of Chicago and this year I'd say we had Winter, "Sprinfall", and we're facing Winter again. Actually, it's been a nice year with mild Summer temps. Mostly 70s, some 80s, and only a few 90+ days. Strangely, even a few Summer days with highs in the 60s.

Years ago, my college roommate was from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and he said the locals claimed two seasons, Winter and July Fourth. I tend to think they didn't exaggerate too much.

It's been pretty nice in Chicago though. Definitely Indy jacket wear time now. Almost ready to layer in fact.

Oregon has the Annual Rain Festival, which is a big event you shouldn't miss. 1 April - 31 March.

That's a lot like the Netherlands We had a beautiful summer this year though with lots of sun and little rain. Right now daytime temps are in the 60's and nighttime temps are in the 50's with, you guessed it, rain

It just seems to me it's cold and we have a short spring then it's hot and same with fall warm a little cool then cold, but maybe cause I'm getting older the cold just hurts more now.

Gottcha! I originally read your post and thought....he must be new to Illinois. LOL! Glad you didn't take my post negatively Jacksdad.

I'm living in Doha, Qatar where the temps still hit the 90s daily. I was really excited this morning when it was low 80's at 7a.m. so I could run outside - felt cool to me.

I've been over here a year and a half and my Wested hasn't left the closet once. Even in January/February the temps rarely are in the 60's even overnight. I'm going to a Halloween party and am debating taking the Wested with me. Other than wearing it for the costume judging I know it'll be too hot to wear. Time for that SOC look.

I grew up in Cleveland and remember plenty of Halloweens wearing my winter coat over my costume to trick-or-treat. I miss the change of season to fall. "I'm really rather envious."
