I've had this fedora for a a little over a year now and thought I would post an update. Here are todays pics:
Here is what it looked like brand new:

I think a little time looks good on a hat.

I agree your fedora looks good with age.
BTW, what is it? The ribbon looks like my old federation. Somehow i don't think yours is an Akubra.

My guess would be a JPD.

Yup, if you follow the link above, it is a JPD.

Nice! It's starting to get that lived-in look.

Thanks!
It's the only fedora I've ever had that I did not feel compelled to endlessly fiddle with the bash to the point of ruin. I just set the bash as you saw in the link, and it took on it's own character in time. I would have expected it to have more taper by now, but it doesn't seem as prone to that as I thought it would be.
Do any of the custom hatters here still use Cury felt?

No. Fedora tried using them, and wasn't happy with their product at all.

That's a
great hat, Weston. One that's suited you right from the start...but that looks even better - and suits you even better - with age.
I remember when you first got this hat. It was within the first few months of me making my visits to Club Obi Wan a "regular thing"...I still had a lot to learn about how many hat choices there were but was already well aware of what separated a beautiful, well-made hat from something... less well-made.
One of the first hats I saw that really stood out for me was your Cury felt fedora from Jimmy... In fact I was inspired to order a JPD -
specifically in the Cury Felt - because of your hat.
I never did end up with the hat - another story - but I've always maintained a great appreciation and respect for the skill that Jimmy Pierce brought to the hats he worked on.
Looks like she keeps getting better and better.
Thanks for sharing the pictures, Weston!
Mitch

I really like the 'character' these fedoras develop with use. It looks like a well 'lived in' hat that gets better with age. I managed to end up with a JPD Granite fedora, but the Curry was not to be.
