a halloween hat

I'll confess that I am lazy when it comes to doing searches here. I'm looking for a fairly screen accurate fedora for Halloween. One that isn't too pricey, since it's just for a regular seasonal thing. Can someone provide me with some links or some info about getting one? Thanks

Giving a price range would help. I would say the Federation, which is under $100. If you are looking to spend more, then that changes things up a bit.

IMHO, a Fed IV or Christy's is your best bet...each of those will be in the $100 ballpark.

Definitely Fed IV. However, if you can't even do a search for it, you probably won't know how to buy the hat either, because it is only in one place, so I'll throw you a bone.
The Akubra Federation IV hat, although made by Akubra hats of Australia, is NOT sold on the Akubra site. It is sold on
www.hatsdirect.com.
The hat comes open crown, and you have to bash it yourself. If you are not comfortable bashing it yourself, there are several members on here who could bash it for you. I think John Penman may offer this service. Not sure about the Adventurebilt guys, but there are ways. However, John Penman just put up a video on youtube that has an EXCELLENT explanation on how to bash on open crowned hat, so you should be able to do it yourself after watching the tutorial.

I don't have a bashing service. I can't charge someone for what takes me all of 3 minutes to do ( as you can see)

WHat I have done is to do it for free as long as the person pays for all shipping and makes the process simple.

Notice I said you MAY offer that service, but I didn't say whether or not there was a fee. Furthermore, after the great video you did, I don't see why anyone should be afraid to try it themselves!
Keep up the good work, John!
