I used Distress Ink around the seams. Fire place ashes will give it a “used” look.
Drop some black coffee on it too.

I just threw mine on my garage floor and rubbed it around with my shoe. Flipped it over a few times. Dirtied it up very nice. Really!

With the tutorials that Todd has on his site on distressing, I'm surprised he hasn't added this one to the list. One exists! :-k

Here are a few pics of my distressed sandbag:

I used brown shoe polish, thinned down black acrylic paint and some fine grit sandpaper. I applied the shoe polish and paint with a sponge. Between coats I rubbed it with the sandpaper. I even put some Games Workshop rusty paint on the metal rim things, to simulate well... rust.
