Greetings all.
This isn't Indy related, but I was hoping with the vast sea of knowledge you all have after searching for Mark VII gas bags, you might be able to assist me in locating a bag I'm having no luck in finding...

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. :)

That looks a lot like a Filson field bag. Check the D.M. Morgan website and do a search under 'Filson' and see if this isn't one of theirs. Regards. Michaelson

I think I found what you were referring to. Doesn't seem to be it. But thanks for the possible link. :)

Anyone else got some suggestions to offer?

Is this bag from a movie (tomb raider perhaps?), If so what movie?
I know I have seen that bag in an Army surplus store. A little more info may be helpful :D

Dean Corso's bag from the movie The Ninth Gate with Johnny Depp. It was prominently featured many times throughout the movie.

Thanks for the further aid in locating this bag. :)

Have you tried army surplus sites. I think I've seen it before or similar on one of them.

I'm not sure it really is i military bag though... It might be but my girlfriend has a leather type bag that uses the same type of closure as in one flap to cover both the main and the two front pockets. I'm still looking around, fear not.

Thanks, Swindiana. :)

A few of us have been searching, and one person thought it might also be a mil-spec school bag or something of the like.
Still no luck on that front, either. :(

I might be on to something!
I saw a guy at campus carrying what looked exactly like this bag, only he got away before I had a chance to ask him about it. I know who he is though and maybe you'll end up at least getting a similar bag. Just be patient...

I swear...I don't know how you people do it. Trying to find this bag has been frustrating at best. Yielding no signifigant results yet. :(

Thanks for the continued assitance!

Ok antiquity collector, I dropped you a PM. Thanks for checking.

Swindi, looks decent, it might pass, but I'll still be looking for the exact. Thanks for the continued help though!

Guys, this is seriously appreciated. Especially to the mods for letting this last so long, even if it's off topic from the main focus. :)

Strikes me that that bag on E-Bay was (is) an Old Navy bag; a search of their site turned up nothing but visiting a store in person might help.

I have the Old Navy bag. It's what I use as a diaper bag(stay at home dad by the way). It's way off in person compared to the Ninth Gate bag. It's canvas with a heavy duty brushed cotton edging and the trim on the flap is just webbing. Nice bag but not what you're looking for. K

I saw this in a catalog I received in the mail and it jarred my memory of this post. This looks like it could be a winner. 8)

Well it's definately the closest thing I've seen so far!
It's got a lot of the correct features. A few things are off. The straps are on top of the flap, where as the movie bag's straps seem to be attached to the underside of the flap. And I can't really tell, but it doesn't look like the shoulder strap has the metal keepers on either side of the bag, but is instead sewn onto the bag.

Still, this is the closest thing I've seen yet! Thanks for the lead!!! :)
