for rookies

Get used to this ... this is my buddy whom i was teaching to crack my whips, he learned three cracks that day with both my 9 and 5 foot whips. but he got himself as i have many times....
get used to it and don't be a wussy, thats whats part of the fun
anyone else whip wounds to share??

I don't own a whip though, but thanks for the warning.

I once got hit in the left pec when I was around 9-10. It took a round piece of flesh about 1/8". Aside from that, I think I have gotten nothing more that leg wraps.

This is why you get your jacket first. You wear it while learning to crack, along with the hat to protect your ears and head. Safety glasses are a good idea, too.

i'm actually pretty good at the whip but if you make a mistake you'll know it. We like to chalk it up to part of the fun, and i needed the color from the sun. i'm one of those white, white kind of dudes.
I have all of my gear and thinking about it i don't think i've ever worn my jacket to practice, probably the first few time just because it was still chilly out at the time, winter to spring last year.
