The Movie Shop - any good?

I tried to do a search beforehand, and nothing good, if anything came out of it.

I was wondering, has anybody ordered hats from themovieshop.com?

If so, how are they?

I see they have the Adventurer fur felt (2 styles) and Adventurer wool (I'm beyond Wool hats now), the Adventurer, apparently if I've lurked here long enough, being a good brand, and they have the HJ Poet apparently, though the pictures, to be honest, look awful.

Has anybody tried getting an adventurer, or a poet from this site? How did they come? Any problems with either the adventurer, or the HJ? If I were to order a HJ from here, would it look as bad as it does in those photos? (god I hope not)? What are the odds that it will, or won't look like that?

EDIT: Link to the HJ Poet:

The odds of getting an HJ like that are very likely. That is what they look like, sad to say. I know that they used to carry the Christy's Adventurer. That is where it was first discovered, though most folks have ordered theirs through Hornets. It looks the same as the Christy's though it doesn't have the name in the ad. I would shoot them an e-mail and see what they say. If it is a Christy's, you have pages of information on that that you can read through.

So, if I am understanding correctly, any problem with the HJ I'd get from there is from the continued declining qualitry of the stock HJ and nothing really from the website, right? Is it nothing that a re-ribbon / reblock can't fix?

EDIT: Actually, aside from the ribbon work, and the brim (probably had it on a table for the photo shoot), it doesn't look that horrific - based on the direct-front, direct-back, and direct-side photos. Doesn't look GREAT! AWESOME! bot again, a little fixing up doesn't hurt.

The adventurer looks great, most likely is the Christy's but to be sure I will be looking into it.

If it is a Christys Adventurer you want, you might save a good bit of money by ordering one directly from hornetshats.com. They are currently about $80.00 USD.

You are probably right, haven't been there in a long while, but I've heard good things.

It ***** in some ways having many good choices for indy-styled fedoras - the decision making becomes much mroe difficult. :x

It is a stock HJ. There is plenty of literature in this section on the HJ. I recommend you read some before you purchase the hat so you know exactly what you are getting.
