My attempts at The Crusade Jacket

Well despite all the SA or not talk....here's my jacket 80% done. Just taking it slowly, but really loving the way it's coming along.
Love your thoughts....(well nice ones).

Yeah, your distressing work is rally good - you could definitely go further if you wanted.

Is it just the photographs, or do the distressed areas look olive/green?

What leather ,color is original ??........seems to have a little more beginning grain than most new westeds....distressing looking good .....what about some outside pics........

I just got my horsehide LC jacket (with Holt SA specs) from Peter last night - absolutely fantastic.

In regards to grit...Ive been using a variety....but have been brave and used some mid weight paper to start of some of the harder seems.

Yes an Aussie, and also grandson of an Anzac.

after a bit more, I think I'll leave it or now...
here's a good tip, use a brush after applying leather dressing.....soften the leather and tones down the look

Anzac, what was the grit progression on the grit of the sandpaper.......very nice and authentic looking ......

I too need to distress an LC....yours is looking good. Just some sandpaper and elbow grease huh?
