Screen acuracy for only 55€ or $74 ?

Post by Nicolas Jones »

Hi!

What do you think of these?

Here are some pictures of the beauuuuutiful hats you can purchase in Disneyland Paris.

They are made of wool, nice "aproximated accurate" colour, no leather sweatband but just a grosgain ribbon, no real bow and no linning

WOW!!!! Why are we all wasting our money on Adventurebilts and Penmans and Fed IVs, Christies, etc. when you can now got 100% SA stuff like this at Disney for a fraction of the cost.

Wow! Look at the bow work on that hat! That's just.....just......Wow! Words escape me as well....along with all of my Easter candy. :-0

By the way, the tag with Harrison's picture on it is probably silently screaming "Get me OFF this hat!"

Actually, that 4th image kind of looks like Indy in ToD when the spikes in the chamber are coming down and crushing his hat "There are going to be two dead people in here!" scene.

ah, yes. the Crambes hats I talked about some time ago. not much known in this forum because they are not sold in Disneyland or Disneyworld. they have the official license, anyway. and you tought the DPs were a shame?

anyway, I owe one. I bought it much before I even knew that Indy's fedora was made of felt. in fact, I bought the cotton version :[ I was totally fooled by the license and got convinced it did really look like the hat seen in the movies.

well, I consider it a souvenir of that beautiful outer heaven that is Disneyland Paris :P

I guess I should cancel my Penman beaver order. Sorry John.
I'll call France right away and order one.

Nick,
Yeah, those that get banned from Disney end up as the puppets there.

My first fedora was a brown wool Pendleton with a rolled edge and brown ribbon and bow to match. I got it because it DIDN'T look exactly like Indy's hat, but compared to this thing, it looks like a perfect Idol grab hat, and it only cost $30!

I realy don't like the look of it. I rather stick with my "close enough" Henry and AB

I might buy one in the future though, and try to put it to use as a hatstand

But seriously, why didn't they put a bow on there but did put that loop/knot on there? This way it looks rather unfinnished to me :-k

I'll be going to Disneyland Paris with my wife next week.

Now the agonising choice, do I bring my Akubra or do I pick up one of these great hats there... :-k

Mind you, if I do wear the Akubra, I'll stand a good chance of getting thrown out again.

Last time I was there I thought it might be nice to get a few shots of myself in my Civil War uniform on the riverboat they have. My wife and I were asked to go back to our hotel and change...

Apparently they were afraid we were impersonating Disney officials? :(

I guess I don't really get the whole wearing a costme to Disneyland thing, and I can understand why Disney might not like it. It increases the liklihood that children interact with strangers that are NOT park employees, which might be a liability issue.

I wouldn't wear a white smock and a stethoscope to the Doctor, and I wouldn't wear blue dickey coveralls to the mechanics. That's just me I guess. Apparently many people have been kicked out of Disney for wearing costumes.

That's very true - It's not a good idea to wear a costume unless it is an official event day. I know they have some costume event days from time to time - legoland had a star wars one a couple years back.

I always take a fedora and MKvii with me to theme parks. I'm at Disney about once a month and even when I wear a safari shirt and Indy jacket, I've never been told anything. If you wear it like a costume, then it is. If you wear it like your usual wardrobe, its like your usual wardrobe.

Essentially, yes. Keeping it on topic would be discussing the hat (seeing as this section is a hat forum) as opposed to an ongoing discussion on Disney's policy over dressing up in their parks (which would belong in Lao Che's or any of the previous threads discussing it).

OK, how about this for tying it all in and keeping on topic...

Ther is absolutely NO REASON for a grown man to show up to Disneyland or Disney World in a costume, especially when they have perfectly accurate gear for sale right there at the shop. :Plymouth:

no. those hats, produced by Crambes, are the Officially Licensed Indiana Jones Hat for Europe, and as far as I know they are sold only in Disneyland Paris, not in the american parks - you have the Dorfman Pacific there.

You don't have the Dorfman Pacific hats in Europe? I didn't know there was another current license holder for the "official" hats.
