Possible bullwhip purchase in San Antonio?
I am getting ready to head to San Antonio, TX in the upcoming week. Does anyone know if there are any whip makers in that area that I could take a look at to possibly purchase one?

I don't know of any place in San Antonio that sells whips (except the El Mercado, but those are toy whips from Mexico). I spent a week during my Christmas vacation down there looking for one with no luck. There is a place in New Braunfels that Pyroxene found some time back (here is a thread over them). The pictures are no longer up, but maybe you can ask Pyro to send them to you.

Will you be coming through Dallas/Ft. Worth? A few of us are getting together this Monday night for dinner.
Robert Duke is outside of Houston, not real close to San Antonio, but you might contact him:

Also, a long time ago Pyroxene posted about some guys who sell whips (but I think they were swivel handle whips). These guys were near San Marcus or New Braunsfels...can't remember which. Contact Pyro and I'm sure he could give you the lowdown.

Indiana Texas-girl, forgot to respond to your invite in the other post...I won't be able to make it to the "Indy" dinner this coming Monday, but thank you very much for inviting me! There is a chance I will be moving to the Ft. worth area within a few months, and that should make it easier to get together with like-minded people...looking forward to it!

That's great news...maybe we can have gatherings similar to the LA clan since there are quite a few of us in the DFW area, but it's hard pulling everyone together at once.RonC wrote:There is a chance I will be moving to the Ft. worth area within a few months, and that should make it easier to get together with like-minded people...looking forward to it!
