These are updated pics, better quality than the original posted.
The gun is made from wood

a lot cheaper than a deactivated weapon.
It was bought through
http://www.relics.org.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the holster, custom made to order, is the work of
http://www.lost-ark.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Hope you like the pics,

Nice holster! When did you purchase the Webley model? I don't see it on the relic site.

They were both purchased seperately but around the same time, about six months ago.
It's taken me so long to get to grips with posting pics on this forum so I'm playing catch-up.
I have'nt actually looked at the relics website since buying the replica gun.
Cheers,
JTW.

Personally I think it looks alright. Will it spend most of it's life in the holster?

Hmm, looking great! I wonder if they make a metal replica.

It will, and it does.
Helps to give the holster a nice shape. There are some pics of the holstered gun on the Care and Distressing page under header 'Distressed webley holster before & after pics'.

I've often wondered the same thing.
I prefer the idea of a replica rather than a deact. The thought of owning a weapon that may have at some time been fired in anger does not sit well with me, even though I am a gun owner myself.

Agreed, you never know where does that weapon came from and at whom it been pointed at. I dont want to keep that in my house. So a replica for me.

For me, one of the interests in a historic weapon is the possibility of it having been used in combat. To care for that weapon is to honor the men of the fought and their sacrifice, and to preserve their memory. I am honored to own these guns. No judgement on you folks who disagree; I completely understand your point.
BTW, I got an email from the relic folks today: they are no longer making the wooden weapons at this time.

I had a feeling the Webley was no longer available when I did not see it on their website.
As far as deacts are concerned, I agree with your philosophy of honour and respect for a service weapon's historical duty and I strongly believe that a gun reflects the outlook of its owner. I am a gun owner myself and as such adopt an open mindness towards the subject. The thought of possessing an unused Mk VI is very appealing, but I've got more chance of
visiting the moon than finding one.
To me, there's just something about owning a used service revolver that sits uneasy with me.
I can't help thinking that with all its honour it may possibly have, at some time, been used inappropriately.
Cheers,
JTW.
(We may get in trouble with the moderators for discussing this matter in too much)

Nah, no trouble, just honest discussion, without judgement. Though we've kinda hijacked the thread, so . . . again, nice holster! And it's too bad about the wooden Webley, looks like a great stuffer.
