25th March NEWS EDIT: FROM KEVIN WEBSITE "100% of the consignment is pre-sold. Sorry, SOLD OUT!"

Kevin Endicott has received a new stock of "stonewashed" MKVIIs. At this moment he's still sorting them but since there was a sort of pre-warning some weeks ago when he posted on his website the arrival date of these... some are already pre-ordered and to today 75% of the bags are practically gone already.
To anyone who wants to try and get one before they are all gone I suggest to hurry and contact Kevin.

Do you know what they're asking for them?

If I understand correctly, these are original MKVII's only pre-distressed?
If these run out, but you definately want an original, you can also check out What Price Glory. They have about 600+ originals in stock at the moment. Got three spare bags last week, just in case my current one fails on me while the supply of MKVII's has run dry. ;)

Yes they are original of course, the price I don't know sorry but if Kevin sold unissued ones for less than £20 I'm sure these will be a very good price too, perhaps someone who pre-ordered it might chime in and let us know their price. I only know they are divided according to their "grade". Meaning that some will be even cheaper.

Bullitt, Price of Glory are way too expensive, that's why I'm doing heads up on Endicott... whenever he receives new ones

I can't recommend Endicott's highly enough. The MKVII they sent me remains one of my prized possessions.

Good communication, good product, great people. Who else would go to so much trouble to run a contest for us?

Is it just me or does the bag look too grayish?

To me Pre-distressed means brand new. :-k

The web site says the VII is completely sold out.

Really? I got mine there; it was $40 plus shipping for a NOS (new old stock) bag with no wear. That seems pretty good to me. I've had to repair one of the cotton webbing ring attachments, but otherwise the bag has held up quite well.

If I remember correctly, these are dirty ones that have been washed. Washing MKVIIs can lead to a stonewash sort of effect. They may be new or they may be used, it doesn't say.

$40 is about £30. Endicott's are way less... and for mint conditions. I think the most expensive were around 20-something pounds and if I say MINT I mean MINT condition. $40 for something you have to repair is a bit much but without Endicott I agree that it could be considered the best deal after some ebay steals.

I have no idea either. Has anyone received his?

I didn't "have to repair" it; the otherwise mint cotton webbing ring attachment broke with some hard use, a well known failure mode of these bags. One also has to factor in the shipping. I think I paid around $50 total with insured and tracked shipping for an unused bag. Again, that seems fine to me. My impression of the Endicott bags was that they generally were worn ("pre-distressed" if one wants to be generous), which would significantly lower the price in my mind. Then there's the separate issue of tracked shipping from the UK, which in my experience can add significant additional cost.

So all in all, there might be a price differential of around $10? That doesn't seem bad at all, even in this economy.

I was talking of the ones he had till not long time ago, clean and unused. This last batch are indeed different but also these come in different grades of quality (and so price). This batch he's selling now I believe is around £10-15. I think the difference is far more than $10.

Sorry if I may or did sound menacing but I don't get why anytime I post something about Endicott's bags there is always a few people having to say something against them, afterall for the prices he sells them I might aswell buy them all myself and re-sell them to you all for the prices others sellers (Price of Glory included) do, and trust me I would make money. I do not demand gratitude (and never did) but at least some respect towards the information that I kindly share with the community to help you all getting cheap MKVIIs.

WPG had a lot of bags not so long ago that, although unissued, had dry rot which caused the ring straps to tear. Now, they were very good about replacing bags- so that's not an accusation! Hopefully they've had more luck with more recent stock though.

Fair enough, though I don't see where anyone has said "something against" Endicott's. My perception of the quality of bags on offer is an opinion, not a slight.

I merely disagreed about the size of the price differential, which, I concede, is larger now due to the weakness of the pound. The pound was trading at about $1.90 when I bought my bag. Taking that into account, an Endicott's bag would have been a little over $45 shipped to the USA and a WPG bag about $58 shipped, resulting in a difference of a little over my estimate of $10.

I ordered a WPG bag. I hadn't heard about the other place, but I figured the WPG was good, since they are in the same state I'm in, I'd have it pretty quick, the price was reasonable and it was described to me as MINT, with strong markings. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Sorry, it's just that it happened quite a few times in the past so I'm a bit touchy about it.

I was mislead by this statement
My impression of the Endicott bags was that they generally were worn ("pre-distressed" if one wants to be generous)

But I didn't realize you were talking of this batch, it sounded like you were talking of Endicott's bags in general.

Sorry again
