For me, I am partial to the Raiders jacket, but for general wearing, I prefer a longer jacket.

Which out of the Indy jackets is the longest?

I couldn't find the answer in my search, so I figured I would ask you guys who own all of them

i think it was crystal skull with a back length of 26.5

Definitely the CS Jacket. It may be the only one that I wouldn't want to add length to.

That was for Ford, and yes if that is too long or too short for someone it would be different

They all seem to be about the same, around 23". At least in HF size.

If you ask me the LC jacket was the longest or at least one of the Jackets used in LC!

Starting of the pockets about 2,5-3 inch from the bottom of the jacket will make the jacket quite long!
HF even seems to wear his pants very low too at this scene!

I believe Indiana Holt mentioned that the Backlength of the LC Jacket was 27 inch.
Could be quite possible.

The Front Length must be at least 1-2 inches longer too! I know the jacket was wet at this scenes but this alone won't make the jacket this long.
Because of the Pocket size and placement I also believe that the jacket was very big at the chest/waist. So then it could be the same length as the CS Jacket but looking much longer when standing straight because of the extra leather.

not a good reference to figure out how long the jacket is in this picture...

he is holding his hands at his back and leans just abit forward, making the front of the jacket appear longer then it really is...

and I dont think the jacket was wet at this scene after the swinging from the tower..

thats why they have the word ''cut'' break time... dry the jacket up.. or replace it with a dry one and lets shoot the next scene...


if the jacket was wet then the distressing would be very hard to see.. though its hard to see the distressing in this picture, but its a fuzzy picture...


and just look at that beautifull big collar. its just wow, its Indy!

I still think it's the longest jacket
The lamb will also help the look too. Because of it's nature.
Look how baggy the jacket looks at the Waist even with this MKVII below.
This extra leather will all fall down when leaning forward. The left pocket is also placed more to the left. So the jacket could be quite bigger at the waist area too.

i have read but cant remember where i found it
last crusades back length was 26 and crystal skull was 26.5

If I'm not mistaken, one of the big differences was that the front of the CS jacket was cut to look just about even to the back, so it might look longer in front than the others did, even though the back isn't much longer than the LC.

Ultimately, even with the same measurements, Fords body (build, posture, etc.) and the way each jacket was cut and put together could cause the jackets to drape at different lengths over the course of the series.

so the jackets the front goes past the back if u look at it or made that way

One thing is in those photos the LC appears very baggy with very large diameter arms. Looks much more loose fitting than the CS jacket.
I'm not convinced the front is longer and if it is maybe only by an inch

It wasn't a joke, Zen. That's a custom jacket that JerseyJones had Peter make him a few years back that has several Indy features, but others added. He wanted it to be a 'coat' length rather than a 'jacket' length.

I don't know if JJ still has that one anymore, though.
