TN LC Jacket ordered

Post by orb »

Right now I just ordered a LC Style Jacket from Tony Nowak!
It will be No. 6 of 333. He goes lower and lower on every jacket series :lol:
I choose six because my CS jacket is no. 83 and my Raiders is no. 14
so 83-6-14 is my birthday ;) Makes sense to me :mrgreen:
I asked for a non predistressed rich brown cowhide. But it will get distressed later.
I will trust Tony completely on this! I also gave him a list with all the LC features.
He must think I'm nuts :oops:
I will post pictures when my hopefully last Indy Jacket has arrived!

Nah I don't have or get an Indy II Jacket from TN. I have a Wested TOD lambskin jacket and soon the same in washed goat too.
But maybe I just get the pillow case with Indy II patch from Tony :mrgreen:

With Grail Diary Pocket do you mean the inner pocket? Because I don't think this was different then the Raiders inner pocket.
The Diary wasn't that big.

Hmm, yeah, why do I think the inner pocket was larger than the rest (other than my own Wested having a HUGE pocket). But the pocket did have a facing...

My TN Raiders Jacket and the CS Jacket got the same inner pocket size. Just the CS got a bigger leather facing.

A list of his own LC details and changes, Holt.
I've done the same, although my list is shorter.
True, there's no definitive specs for the Last Crusade jacket, but with Tony's help, it won't be
hard to turn a Raiders or Crystal Skull into something fairly close, and of a very high quality.

This I got to see. Love the LC jacket. Remember those pockets are one of the central elements to get right. A massive flap which goes almost half way down the pocket.

And I'm thinking how about an Indy 4 jacket made in goat. I was never a fan of the distressed cow look, but in goat it might just be awsome...

Didn't Tony have at one time an LC jacket for study ??
So it shouldn't be too hard for him to make one.

The jacket is based on the CS Jacket, so If I forgot anything it will be like on the CS jacket!
Here's the list a gave to Tony:
Collar should be the same size as the CS Jacket but with Rounded collar tip.
Pockets (pockets are 6.5" x 7.5") that are placed higher (bottom of pockets about 2.5 inches from the bottom of jacket) with a big scalloped pocket flap (3.25'' at the "point" of the flap)
Very Thin pipings on the pocket flaps
No leather facings
No underarm gussets
No shoulder pads
No hem stitch.
Single stitch shoulder seam
V tapered backpanel
Thick Silver Zipper Fullmetal (he said he got an 8 gauge ykk silver zipper)
Diameter of the Sleeves: CS HF Size just an inch off!
Same Cuff opening as the Raiders Jacket with HF size.
Lining: CS Lining
CS D-Rings
Leather: Rich Brown Cowhide, Different to the CS cowhide. Maybe not a predistressed hide. But also heavily distressed later :-)

Sizing:
A->B Front Wind Flap 22.5 inches
C->D Chest Across 21.0 inches
E->F Bottom Across 21.5 inches
G->H Shoulder Across 7.0 inches
I->J Back Height 25.5 inches
K->L Back Across 20.0 inches
M->N Sleeve Length 25.5 inches

I also told him to extend the collar to the middle of the stormflap. I prefer that to get the jacket really different from the CS.
I think the cuff opening was quite tappered and so will be mine.
For this jacket I also chose a bit snuger measurements. It will be more like a 42 size. I think the jacket doesn't look so big on Ford in the LC as it did in CS.
So then I really have 3 different TN Indy Jackets. a Size 40 Raiders, Size 42 LC and Size 44 CS. Every jacket also has a different backlength and sleeve length too.

Good point, I think Tony might have had a look at the LC Smithsonian... or maybe it was just the Lee Kepler archive jacket.

After receiving some pictures from me of the Smithsonian jacket Tony said: Why they always sending me pictures of this @#$% jacket?
I answered: Sorry it's just that you see the pocket size/shape better ;)
I really want that Smithsonian Style except that the collar extendeds to the middle of the stormflap.

Hello Indiana Holt!
Well then what is right and what is wrong? I mentioned it before that the smithsonian jacket did not have the collar attached to the middle of the stormflap.
But that's how I want the jacket to be.

http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/big/7426-1m.jpg

I really wanted to get the specs adjusted to what I have seen from screenshots and what I think looks SA.
I also told Tony to not do the all the specs 1:1 as I have written them.
The pocket size should match the size of the jacket. So he really does have much freedom.
I really think there are no bulletproof specs of the LC jacket available. But I think the CS jacket is the best base for a LC jacket and Tony is IMO
easy to deal with. He did great on my three other jackets I recently got and I'm sure it will be also fine this time.

I don't want to end with 3 LC jackets with nitpick differences ;)
That's why I put all the features I want together in one jacket.
Also the sidestrap config will be the same as the CS jacket.
The mainly differences to the CS jacket will be the pocket size/shape and placement and the extended collar.

gotcha.

the biggest differences between CS and LC is the:

the collar.
pockets.
backpanel.
sleeves.
torso fit. (not that baggy as CS)

thats whats stands out the most to me when I compare the 2

Can't wait to see this one. As there aren't any "written in stone" LC specs right now, I think you've done a good job catching the main differences to help your LC look different than your CS.
