Thanks Dakota! The specs on this hat are, 5 1/4 sides, 4 7/8 front pinch, 4 1/4 back, brim 2 3/4 x 2 1/2. This HJ is a real reddish brown, redder than the PBBM that I saw, and the felt is thin. The felt looks almost velour like, if you know what I mean. It is not velour, but just looks really fine grained. I like the felt. The color looks like the same color of Indy's hat when he is facing Belloq in the cafe, and the shot from behind when he is watching the truck explode in the streets of Cairo. The sweatband on this hat is 1 1/2 inches, and dark brown. 30 New Bond St. The hat came with no liner, just the Burgundy HJ sticker on the inside. Sometimes I think this is the original color of the Raiders fedora, a real reddish brown covered with dust. Sometimes not. regards, Fedora
Many blocks are tapered on the front and back, and the degree of taper can vary from block to block. A slight taper on the back will still straighten up when you put the top bash in the hat. So a little taper is ok on the block, and most have it. My block has taper in the front and back as well, but not as much as other blocks. This results in a little reverse taper sometimes on my reblocks. regards, Fedora

Perhaps i'm a little foggy on the entire concept of taper all together, but what exactly is reverse taper? I saw ITG refer to it as a good thing with her new Keppler, but I didn't quite understand what it meant.
Darn the downtime, had to go and re-register my account.
I can't recall who coined that word, but it is the opposite of taper. Taper is like / \, reverse taper is like \ /. Of course this illustration is an exaggeration, but may help in understanding what is being referred to. best regards, Fedora
