Okay, Seeings how Indy G wants to get old vintage hats and rebuild them......here is what I did. I snuck out to my dads.....grabbed his vintage HJ Poet ...took it home and reblocked it.

JUST KIDDING! :D :D :D This is an old Aussie hat I bought 10 yrs ago. It didnt fit and it had lost its shape. I blocked it out on my Frankin Block and gave it a 5 1/2 inch open crown and put the front and back heights to what Oak told me was a good starting point.

This is the hat that I could not get the fuzz down on...but took on a new look with the parts sewed on.

Enjoy,

OHIO

hey! that's my hat!!!

very, very nice ohio.....your hats are getting better and better my friend....so, how'd it feel when you finished her off? feels pretty good hey?

that hat does look like my pecan number......maybe we can trademark this colour for our hatmaking 'gang' .....we'll fight the burma brown gang tomorrow!!!!.....but the kind of fighting that you see in west side story...... :rolling:

dude, that's a great looking hat buddy. be proud and wear it with your chin up.....when someone says, "hey, nice hat".....you can say, "thanks, i made it".....that to me makes it all worth it.

cheers,

G

Thanks G,

Actually the camera lies a bit about the color. In person it is a light bone-ish khaki color. I appreciate the remarks....and I think the next one will be brown...just to have one.

I will get a few pics with it on my melon. The block is okay...nothing like the one I built for you. Mine is very symmetrical in a few ways...with some added secrets..but far from yours. I am thinking about building a new one soon.

Ohh....to answer your question.....25 minutes taking my time....and I have to say about this one.....FLAWLESS. (sewing in the sweat that is) You must get yourself one of these G. I think you would be proud of the stitching. I thought about posting a pic of that just for you......next time I will! :D :D :D :D
