Todds Gloves

So I've searched the posts, and maybe I just can't find what I'm looking for, and I apologize if this is already somewhere else (and I just can't find it) but could anyone that has Todd's Gloves (not the Wells version) post some pics of different sizes, and maybe wearing them too? Just need help making a size decision. I picked up some Wells Y0122 gloves, and they are huge and have the brown Stitch thing on the hem, and the colour is white more then a tan. Anything provided is appreciated.

Here is a piture of my Todds OTR gloves. I have no pictures where they are being worn, but they're not opera gloves. The fit like the sort of gloves you'd use for caving, repelling, etc...if they're properly sized.
For color adjustment, the hat is a sable Christys' and the holster a Todds. Hopefully there are enough posts of those two items to find a nice color balance. Outside light, no flash. The gloves are distressed by: thorough soaking, drying, actual work use, soaking, drying, then cleaning the BBQ pit ;) .

That pic does help me out a bit. Thanks Kiltie! If you have any more detailed ones, that would be awesome.

I forgot to flip the dang "macro" switch before I took these pics, sooooo...
I hope these crummy pics say enough. You get the right glove because I'm left handed. The first three are on my hand, the last is next to the WalMart close-enough which clearly take on a more yellow cast when compared to the Todds'.

edit:
I just looked at the pics, and you can really see the striated marks from where the leather was stretched ( as on many less expensive leather items ). The marks aren't even CLOSE to as visible in person. Anyone reading this: It may go a long way as to explaining why nobody likes the way their Tony Nowak shrunken lamb pics come out :-k .

Which glove do people recommend? The Todd glove version or the Wells-Lamont Gloves that are on clearance?

Are they the same quality and colour?

Cheers!

Well, I have a pair of Todd's gloves coming right now, but own 3 pairs of the Wells Lamont gloves. Here is a link to a pair I have that I changed the colour and slightly distressed. I'll let you know once the Todd's gloves come in how they compare to the Wells Lamont pair. Check the link to see what they look like.

Since the Wells Lamont's fit a bit big. What I just did last night was soak the gloves after the colour change in HOT water for about a minute, squeezed the water out, then let them dry on a vent. This morning they shrunk up, and fit even better.

I've never tried to shrink my gloves, but I've thought about it. The gloves are so well broken in they fit real well, but it might be nice to have them a tiny bit more form fitting.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but I did end up getting the clothes from Todd. Ordered a size medium, and they fit actually really well, tight but they look right to me. Just need to work them in and maybe adjust the colour. All in all, I'm happy I went with them, especially for only $11. They're no Wells Lamont's, but very sturdy. Todd does some very nice work! Thanks for all the help everyone!

Wow, sorry for the long delay. Here are some pics of the gloves with my Wells Lamonts y0122 size Large that I colour changed. I ordered the Todd gloves in a Medium because I wanted to see how much more snug they fit. I think the fit is better, then my Wells especially for length at the wrist level. But since I've rubbing alcoholed, soaked in hot water, then put some leather conditioner back onto the Wells since they felt stiff, they now feel and fit very nicely. Just can't wait till its warmer, so I can play in the dirt.

You can see that they are a little on the white side. Still the Todd gloves have the upper hand with the colour matched binding at the bottom.

Here's something I did to my Todd's Gloves that worked out pretty well (not necessarily in the way of "distressing"... just more in the way of "knockin' some of the white offa them"):

First, the background:
Got mine a couple of weeks ago and instantly noticed - as many already HAVE - that they're "Snow White" in color.
GREAT gloves... but VERY white.
At first, I told myself "Well, not to worry... I'm sure they'll get dirty looking soon enough".
After about a week, though... they were still pretty white (a couple of co-workers even commented - in a kind fashion - how you don't often see such white gloves.)
As the next day or two went by, their "whiteness' in contrast to the sleeve of my Wested was starting to make me feel like I looked like a mime.

"Well, enough of THAT." I thought.

- So, that night I filled the kettle with water and got it boiling.
- I got out a stainless steel bowl (about the size you'd serve up a full bag of microwave popcorn in).
- I threw a tea bag (Tetley Tea, I think) into the bowl and half filled it with boiling water.
- Let Tea steep for about 10 minutes.
- Removed tea bag.
- Filled bowl remainder of the way with cool water.
- Place pristine white gloves into warm tea-stained water.
- Put two heavy spoons on top of gloves to keep them submerged.
- Let sit for about an hour.
- Remove and wring out gloves.
- Put on gloves and wear them as they dry.

Presto!
Now you've got clean gloves that look a bit stained and distressed without actually being the worse for wear!
(Best of all, if you're ever lost in the woods with only the means to start a fire and melt down some snow in a pot for boiling water, you throw in your gloves and Voila! Tea, anyone?)
;)

Mitch, thats a great idea! I was thinking about doing that, but worried they may turn out a little reddish. Thats why I went with the goldish/brown acrylic paint in the rubbing alcohol trick for my Wells gloves. Do you have any pictures of the after tea soaking? I'd love to see what they look like now.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that (I wrote that post while on break at work and I'll admit I rushed it a bit.)

Here's what I probably SHOULD have written:
I don't have my digital camera right now, but I WILL have it this Friday and I'll post a few photos over the weekend. I wish I'd thought to take a picture of the gloves "Before" but I didn't... but I'll place the tinted gloves on - or next to - a piece of white printer paper for contrast.
So, for those of you who'd prefer to see for yourselves before you try... if you don't mind waiting until, say, this Saturday... I should be able to add the photos then.
Cheers,
Mitch

Hey folks!
Hope everyone's having a great weekend. :)
Just wanted to offer the follow-up to my posts above.
Here's a few shots showing Todd's VERY nice "Wells-Lamont-ish" Work Gloves, which, you may recall, arrive very pristine and "super-white"... but after a dip in the bowl of diluted tea (for details, please read the aforementioned posts above) they've got a more "worked-in & and well-loved" look about them without all the ACTUAL wear'n'tear.
(Nothing TOO drastic, mind you... but enough to take some of the "shine'n'glare" offa them.)
;)
For each of the shots, the gloves were placed on a sheet of regular white (non-glossy) printer paper for contrast (the gloves were ALMOST that same shade of white when they arrived) and then on top of a green placemat fron the kitchen table - just so ya know.
Also, the first 2 shots are indoors & the last shot is outdoors in pretty bright, natural light.
Please let me know what you think.
Mitch

Mitch, those look awesome. I think I'm going to give mine a tea bath. The colour is very nice, very close to how they seem in the movie. Great pics! Thanks!

What I did to make my former gloves more accurate was. Rub it with black and brown liquid shoe polish. Then sand off some areas.

edit// : I have to say thought mine are not Todd's Gloves they were Wells Lamont's
