My ToD Arrived!

Well my washed goat arrived, and I am completely happy. Fit is great and the leather looks like it will age beautifully on it's own.

I was slightly surprised a the light weight of the washed goat, it is very similar to my 5 year old lamb in weight and thickness, it feels a bit stronger. The arms look like they will hold wrinkles much more quickly.

Those of you waiting.... hang on in there, they are starting to arrive.

I recieved my Temple washed washed goat back in January and I can say that arm wrinkles show pretty fast on this hide. It's one of my favorite Indy jackets!

Looks good Kt. Now get it wrinkled.

Nice work on the photoshop. Now try with a B+N label.

(Did Leather Concessionaires make any ToD jackets?)

I only suggested a B+N label because that's what the NH jacket had.

dunno about the Leather Concessionaires label. Kt just likes it I guess.

Those pockets seem to look a little bigger on your jacket than mine....is it proportional to the size of the jacket?

QFT! LOL.

The pockets seem pretty much the same as on the other TOD jackets, 6 1/4" high X 5 3/4" wide or thereabouts. Even so they are TINY the handwarmers are really too small to be of any use.

My Jacket is a 40" Chest, 23 back, 23 sleeve.

Congratulations, it looks great KT. Wear it well.

It’ll look even better after a bit of wear and abuse. Washed goat really is ideal for a ToD jacket.

That one fits you much better than this old one, too:

I haven't been following prior to this thread, KT. Is that a Wested?

In any event, whoever made it, I love it! I've never been a fan of the small pockets, but I can look past that since it's not my jacket. :- Everything on that one is aces! The color, the hide, the finish, the collar! What color was envy again? Oh, yeah...

Compliments again on Peter and please all of you stop posting pictures these ToD reproductions around or I will end up ordering one!!!!

Naahh I don't fancy the little pockets (if I repeat that another 800 times I might actually convince myself of that) but WOW we can say that a faithful copy of the original ToD jacket IS available for purchase, that's something!
It looks very good on you Kt. I wish you would do some distressing but I guess you could say the same thing to me :P

So if I am a 42 long normally, what do I order in a Tod - I'm a medium to thin build and have never been inside a gym. Are the sleeves of a ToD shorter than other jackets?

the jacket is a slim fit in the body.

I think it was 2'' of torso room.

the sleeve length are made after your demand when you order, but I keep reading that they run thoigth in the armhole and top sleeve.

I would ad 0.75'' in the armhole if you dont like fitted sleeves...

I'd say order your regular 42 size but as Holt says, ask them to add about .75" to the upper arm.

Sleeve length fit should be about the same as other Indy jackets. Back length of the HF size NH jacket I think was 26". Go from there to the point you want the back to fall.

I ordered the same sleeve dimensions as on my other Westeds. The length was the same but the sleeves are tighter through the bicep area. I think Holt's extra .75" would take care of that.

Thanks guys. I have no biceps to speak of so in theory it should fit as is. I would have ordered one already but the inconsistant quality (lining and SA mistakes) and concern over leather types has held me back. I'm still pondering.

I visited Wested today to return a jacket and meet Peter, it was an unusual experience - after reading this forum for so long, the people here kind of feel like characters in a favourite book or soap. So to see the barn and meet a name from the boards was like stepping into the screen.

Whilst I was there I tried on a TOD jacket, it felt great although it's not really for me, and boy those pockets are small!!
I also got to see and try on one of Peter's upcoming projects and you guys are in for a treat! ;-)

Anyway, thank you Peter, it was a brilliant trip.

sorry for the derail..

Great TOD Jacket KT!
Love the Matt look of the washed goat! Wear it with proud!
Longer sleeves is always fine. Just wear the jacket you can let the sleeves shorten later if needed!

Great jacket, KT!!! Looks fantastic! I love my ToD in washed goat too - definitely the perfect hide for this jacket. Mine is starting to wear in beautifully. No artificial distressing will be necessary.

Wear it in good health!!

My 2 ToD's arrived late last week -- I had ordered a 40R & 42R to make sure I got the right fit the first time. Wested nailed the size 40R for me -- fits even with a light sweater underneath. It may be due to the fact that I had requested a little extra room in the upper arm & shoulder area. The goatskin is great too -- nice and soft, but still tough. The jacket is already starting to show some nice arm wrinkles after only a few days of wear. Jacket isn't as light as in the pics, it's actually a fairly dark brown...BTW, I ONLY ordered 2 jacket to keep one -- the one that fit better. That's also the only reason I'm selling the other. :D

Holt,
*Look at the last pic -- the side view -- you can see the sleeves aren't that tight...I should also mention that I have larger than average arms -- not immense, but you can tell I work out.

Sleeves are tighter than a Raiders jacket, but there's enough room for me to wear a t-shirt and a sweater underneath it. I can zip the jacket up and not feel restricted either, although the sleeves could be more at a right angle to the body, as we had discussed in the other thread. Overall, I really like the jacket -- color, fit, everything.

Well then, I suppose the 42R I'm selling would fit a size 40 if you want a looser fit, or a 42 if you want more of a ToD fit. :-k

I ran it under luke-warm water in the shower for all of 3 minutes or so, just to get it fairly damp, then I wore it til it was mostly dry. If the fit had been slightly more loose, then I would've probably thrown it in the dryer, but I didn't want to risk making it too small.

Well, alcohol, the washer and/or dryer will take care of the shine. :) As far as it being thin, yeah it seems thinner than the regular goat, but it doesn't feel flimsy at all. It's sort of the best of both worlds -- the strength of goatskin, with a drape that's not too much different than lamb...just my thoughts, and I'm a fan of the thicker goatskin as well.

I wonder if the village scene jacket has the nylon lining, so looser fit, and the end scene jacket has the replaced 'slightly smaller' cotton lining?

That goat is the regular goat. The only thicker non-washed goat is what Peter offered two years ago. This is the standard goat hide Peter's been offerring since a year ago.
