Early Design Raiders Jacket?

Post by rover smith »

I've done a bit of digging but cant find any thread relating to this, so apologies if a thread exists and I've just missed it.

have a look at this photo
http://www.theraider.net/showimage.php? ... /mo_18.jpg

Check out the guy standing at the back by Fords left hand. One of the stunt doubles, Terry Leaonard maybe? His Jacket is different from the Hero jacket in the picture. I know the above pic isnt too clear but if any of you have The Complete Making Of Indiana Jones book you can see it more clearly.
It semms a lighter brown and has a collar more like the Sternko concept art jacket.

I believe the Temple scenes were among the first to be filmed. So could this Jacket be one of the early wilsons designs? Perhaps used before the main shipment of 10 Jackets from leather concesionaries? Anyone know?

Could be. Remember, there were still Wilson jackets floating around the sets before the extra Wested jackets arrived. Anything's possible....

there was a thread on this before, that is not a stunt guy, if you look closely that is not even a HJ he's wearing, although his gear seems similar its not indy's this guy is just some kind of crew, but not a stuntman. Its an older gentleman too, TL looked much younger back then ( DUH) :P
The last time I saw this pic come up it was in a bigger version of it. ( from a book perhaps)?

This is probably a stand in, guy to make sure lighting is right.

But its just a guys wearing similar clothes, but definatley not a stuntman.

Temple scenes where not first to be filmed. They did all the location shots : France, Tunesia, etc. first.

Yeah I noticed the rest of the outfit was off, still could be one of those wilson jackets though. It looks very like the jacket in the concept art, just wondered if anyone knew.

According to the making of book the Temple scenes were filmed in the first two weeks of principal photography just after they did the Bantu Wind stuff in La Rochelle ages before they went to Tunisa.
