I had this posted yesterday, but apparently the thread disappeared. I sent my lambskin Wested Raider's jacket back for a new lining recently. Man, am I glad I did!

Wested installed a very nice polished cotton lining, and in addition to this, installed a leather collar stand, repaired the cuffs, cleaned and oiled it. The delivery was quick, arriving just one week after they received my payment. Excellent service! The jacket is even better now than when it was new!

HOW MUCH, and how did you arrange it?!

I remember the thread

It must really feel good to have an 'old friend' back home. 8)

They did a very nice job of restoring it.

It cost me about 30 USD to send it off, and 40 GBP (59 USD) to get it back. That is still about $50.00 less than a local tailor quoted me for the lining alone.

Arranging it was easy. I e-mailed Wested to let them know it was coming, and mailed it to the address on their website. I included a note with the jacket. They e-mailed me back to say they would be looking for it. When it was done, I use paypal, sending the payment to wested@wested.com.

I'll bet, it looks very authentic in it's wear, but still very functional. Instant, raiders, I didn't know Wested would do that for old jackets. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Yes. The shipping far exceeded the cost of repair. Worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.

As I said in your missing thread Weston, it looks amazing! Maybe one day I'll get the guts to send my old Wested out for repair, maybe. :)

Great looking jacket!! There really is NO substitute to a well-loved, naturally aged and naturally distressed jacket.

I take it the bag from 5 years ago wasn't a plastic zip lock?

...and that's why Wested is the original and the best. Hope I have the same experience in many years' time when I do the same thing.
