I like the Peter Bros. One of the nicer ones, in my opinion.

I don't know what "cheap" is for you, but I have some reasonable suggestions for the boots and shirt.

Sketchers makes a shoe and a low boot with the right toe. I think they are called Mariners and Ripsaws (I forget which is which).

For a shirt, I always recommend this one from Cabelas, in stone as a starter shirt.

The gear looks good, but we need to see it on you!

My close enough shirt is this one from Cabella's. It doesn't have the epaulets, but it is 100% cotton which I prefer over cotton blends. The one I have is Stone which I think is very SA for color. It doesn't look like that color is currently in stock.

You could try to dye the one you have using this technique

http://www.dalexs.whitvani.net/shirt/shirtFAQ.html

Since your shirt is already white you can skip the bleaching steps. Keep in mind though the RIT dye works best on cotton. Cotton blends or polyester shirts will not hold the dye well, if at all. Polyester is great for stain protection, but that holds for dyes as well.

Indiana Jeff

Great start- however, I don't know what it is, but there is something about the pinch on your hat that looks off. Maybe it's the lighting?

Looks like you're doing pretty well there! Just need to age that bag.

I'd go without a whip rather than carry that one, though. Indy doesn't always have his whip, so you'd still be accurate. That one just isn't nearly close enough, IMO.

Of all the clothing items I've got the whip is the worst item. Everything else is top of the line stuff, but since I'm really not a whip guy, I couldn't justify spending big money on something that I wasn't going to use. Anyhow it's a cheap, piece of *&*R% and in all the years I've had it, not one person has made a comment about it good, or bad. I think it's a very small circle of knowledgabe people out there.

You're off to a great start. To get down to details, I would dye the shirt or replace it (but you already know that) and I'd do something about the whip, but all in all, you are in very very decent shape!

If it's your ONLY shirt, I wouldn't. I'd get a second 'like' shirt and experiment with the dyeing process first before chancing messing up your only shirt in your collection.

We've read to many 'I've messed up my (insert gear item here) trying to dye/distress, how do I reverse the process?' threads.

Oh, and one more bit of advice....

....listen to Michaelson. The mustache gives him mystical powers of knowledge.

I would spring for a new shirt rather than dying. Todd's Costumes shirts usually get pretty good reviews. I'm actually thinking of picking one up for myself in addition to the Wested shirt I already have.

I'll go along with the dying being a last resort. I remember my Mom doing a few dye jobs when I was a boy and usually it would come out ok, but not always and that was by someone who really knew what she was doing.

Fair enough, but there are cheap whips that look closer than this one. Brown instead of black for starters. ;)

But overall, lookin' good, Indyfan.
