Brim Shaping
Hey guys. I ordered a Fed IV from Akubra last summer and have loved it! It was my first bash and I dry bashed it and actually did really well. I bashed it to be like the KotCS bash or Last Crusade. I noticed that the brim is shaped well except for the sides. I'd like to have the side curl of the last crusade hat, but not so much like the venice pier hat. Any advice?

Thanks so much, i think its starting to help as I've been working with the felt a little here and there over the last day or so. Another thing I was wondering about was the plastic that is attached to the lining. It has been bothering me and I was thinking of trying to take it out, but I don't want to ruin the lining on such a great hat. Any ideas?

I know many have cut the plastic out of the lining out and had great results. I have never done it to a Federation, but I took the plastic out of my Christy's by simply cutting dwon the very center of the plastic, effectively making two halves. Once I did that, I very carefully pulled on the plastic and it smiply came right out. No plastic is now visible and the hat is much cooler, not mention that I think it looks better.
