One quicky about the zipper side

One quick question and pls pardon me if it has been discussed before

Since the prototype used for the making of CS jacket was one of the jackets Lee Keppler was making back then, then why the TN CS jacket has the zipper on the left size since the below has it on the right side.

I searched a little but couldn't find the "model" jacket.
Help out please.

They were made both ways, as I recall. :-k

The 'American' method was the original, but folks wanted them to mirror the Raiders British made jacket (Peter ALSO contracted to Lee to make him jackets for his Adventure Supply co.), so they installed the European style zip as well. The one in the ad was the American zipper offering....but as I said, they were available either way. As time passed, the American zip was phased out.

Personally, I never saw one of Lee's jackets with the American zipper 'in the flesh', as shown above. They've all been the European style.

Keep in mind, in the U. S., the so called 'American' zip is one that is considered made for males, and the European stype zip for females, so a lot of men refused to purchase the jackets WITHOUT the American syle zipper.

What about driving on the other side? That female too?
I though Europe was there first....

They were, but if you'll recall, we had a little war with England back in 1776. We reversed everything in the way we did things after that little fracus in defiance of the Crown. ;-)

Yes I remember.
You're still using inches though.
When are you gonna switch to metric?

LOL!!! NEVER!!!!!!!

Funniest line I've heard regarding that very thing was on an old British show 'Are you Being Served?'. The British were changing to metric in the 70's, and one of the ladies on the program said: "I'll never ever figure out how you measure in centipedes!"
:)

Switching to metric is not a bad thing.
Switching to EURO is.
I hope it doesn't happen to you.

We still use pints for beer and milk. So not all is lost. (And have I mentioned our pints are bigger than yours :))

But HEY give me a litre of beer, I won't complain!

Platon you can pretty much rest assured that anything about the movie CS jacket is the way it is because Bernie Pollack wanted it that way.

The main reason the U.S. will never switch to metric: sports stats.

"There's a drive from Mantle . . IT's OUTTA HERE! . . . a towering 514 METER homerun!"

"That's old-time smash-mouth football from Alabama - three METERS and a cloud of dust."

You have to wait till the Federation takes over. Starfleet is metric all the way.

He he... Reaider Zee you may have a point there. I rememeber years ago when there was a push to go metric and it seemed lik it was going to happen any day. Then it just sort of died out. :[

...sort of like 'New Math'. ;-)

Sadly, I was actually kind of good at cyphering that convoluted mathematic system! It made no sense what so ever, therefore it made perfect sense to me!

Rumor has it the United States, Canadian, and Mexican governments are already working to do away with each nation's current currency and replace them with the "Amero" as part of an effort to expand the North American Free Trade Agreement into a North American Union (similar to the European Union), though officials from all three nations have said no such plans exist.

We'll see.

That's the rumor? I hadn't heard that one, but there are plenty of rumors I'm not aware of.

Nope.

I believe we've answered your question, PLATON, so there's no further need of this thread rambling down the path it went.

Nothing more to see folks...move along. ;-)
